UniUni uses the "crowdsourcing" service model of drip type to provide tail delivery services for leading cross-border e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Wal Mart and Shein in Canada and North America.

Surpath provides cross-border e-commerce with solutions for supply chain logistics informatization, and is committed to helping cross-border brands achieve more efficient supply chain management through visual tracking and SKU cost analysis.

John (Fu Qiang), the presenter of this podcast, is the head of the Sailing Team of Lanchi Investment Team. His team is constantly looking for global navigators in the new era. If you are, welcome to Lanchi and meet them face to face!

We also talked with two guests about how Chinese people become an international company overseas. Peter works and lives in Canada all the year round. Jim has many years of experience in foreign enterprises before he started his business. Now there are also many faces from different ethnic groups in UniUni and Surpath. Which is more popular, Chinese or Indian? How to make the black guy with casual character no longer be careless? How do migrant workers from different countries cooperate? They brought some unexpected answers.

Logistics in North America has been dominated by UPS, Fedex, DHL and USPS for decades. However, with the outbreak of the epidemic, the population penetration rate of local e-commerce has risen sharply. At the same time, many cross-border e-commerce giants such as Shein, Temu, TikTok and AliExpress have also ushered in explosive growth. The efficiency and service attitude of these traditional express companies are powerless to overcome.

Regular strikes, welfare and pension subsidies keep express delivery costs high. In addition, these companies still adopt the traditional operation mode, have made a lot of investment in network construction and purchased a lot of vehicles. However, the volume of goods in the e-commerce industry may differ five to ten times between the peak season and the slack season, which leads to serious waste of resources. In the peak season, the vehicles are never enough, while in the slack season, a large number of vehicles are idle.

What's worse, the customized service level of these traditional express companies is very low. For example, e-commerce customers require to take two photos when delivering goods to show the specific location and door number of goods, so that customers can find them easily. But even for such a simple requirement, it took more than two years for traditional express companies to complete the development. For cross-border customers who are accustomed to efficient logistics services in China, this inefficient service level is unacceptable.

The supply chain problem is actually the capital chain problem, and the capital chain problem is actually the boss's problem. The landlady always asks the boss: Where is the money spent?

Cross border e-commerce sellers often have a deep understanding of the "two eight principle", that is, 20% of the products create 80% of the profits, but many companies often realize three months later which SKUs (inventory units) contribute most of the profits.

There are only two cases of cross-border e-commerce sellers' failure: one is that the product sales are poor, and the business has not been expanded before it "dies prematurely"; The other is the break of capital chain. Surpath's goal is to help sellers do a good job in supply chain inventory management. The first is the management of cash flow, and the second is to use the minimum inventory to ensure that the products are not out of stock, which is great.

In the past, drivers in North America used to spend hours to pick up the pieces and do a lot of unpaid preparation. The driver needs to process the package manually, then input the address information on the computer, use Google Maps to plan the route, and manually input the information into the Excel table. The whole process is very tedious.

Through UniUni's design and path optimization, the delivery efficiency has increased from less than 10 orders per hour to 25-30 orders now. On the evening of the second day of the package forecast, we can use computers and trained large-scale optimization models to automatically complete the route planning of more than 100 orders.

For drivers, the operation is very simple: they don't need to know how to use a computer, they just need to have a mobile phone and send it in order according to the instructions on the mobile phone. Even novice drivers who are not familiar with the local terrain can successfully complete the assignment as instructed.

Globalization is a particularly meaningful thing that connects people all over the world. Logistics is the connection of goods, and the global business allows people from different countries and different races to connect with each other. When the Cambodian girl and the black brother urged the black warehouse keeper for the order, they would not think that people from different countries are incomprehensible and incommunicable.
