Economic operation of automobile industry in April 2024
In April, China's automobile production and sales were 2.406 million and 2.359 million, up 12.8% and 9.3% year on year respectively. Among them, 870000 and 850000 new energy vehicles were produced and sold, up 35.9% and 33.5% year on year respectively.

From January to April, the production and sales of automobiles were 9.012 million and 9.079 million, up 7.9% and 10.2% year on year respectively.
（1） The sales volume of passenger cars in April increased by 10.5% year on year
In April, the production and sales of passenger cars were 2.048 million and 2.001 million, up 15.2% and 10.5% year on year respectively.
From January to April, the production and sales of passenger cars were 7.658 million and 7.689 million, up 8.6% and 10.6% year on year respectively.
（2） The sales volume of commercial vehicles in April increased by 2.8% year on year
In April, the production and sales of commercial vehicles were 358000 and 357000, up 0.8% and 2.8% year on year respectively.
From January to April, the production and sales of commercial vehicles were 1.354 million and 1.39 million, up 3.9% and 8.1% year on year respectively.
In April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 870000 and 850000, up 35.9% and 33.5% year on year respectively; New energy vehicle sales reached 36% of the total new vehicle sales.
From January to April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 2.985 million and 2.94 million, up 30.3% and 32.3% year on year respectively; New energy vehicle sales reached 32.4% of the total new vehicle sales.
From January to April, 1.827 million vehicles were exported, up 33.4% year on year. 421000 new energy vehicles were exported, up 20.8% year on year.
