IT Home reported on May 24 that Pixelmator Pro, the mapping software for Apple's macOS platform, recently released an update of version 3.6, of which the most noteworthy improvement is the "redesign from scratch" mask tool, which can be created and improved more quickly by integrating AI functions.
The biggest change of Pixelmator Pro 3.6 is new Hide Background function, With AI, the whole background in the image can be removed without damage with one click. The tool detects the body of the image and adds a background mask to hide other parts of the photo.
After switching to the Arrange tool in the new version, you can double-click the canvas to create a mask for the layer, or select the mask to control its size and position. Pixelmator indicates that it is easier to round the image or crop a single layer in multi-layer composition.
Note to IT Home: As long as the user selects or creates a mask, the mask related tools will appear at the bottom of the screen, so that you can quickly adjust the transparency, change the edge softness, reverse the mark, add a new mask, and so on.
Pixelmator also supports vector masking, so you can mask layers to specific shapes. After adding a vector mask, the areas within the vector shape will remain visible, while other areas will be hidden.
Select a shape from the mask menu at the top of the layer sidebar, or use the pen tool to create a mask to mask the layer. The vector mask is editable, so each point can be adjusted like a normal shape.
