In the announcement, Gome said that during the annual report audit process with the auditors of the 2023 financial report, they agreed that Gome's receivables from related parties were unable to be recovered, so the other receivables and accounts receivable of Gome were fully withdrawn for bad debts of related party transactions, resulting in a credit impairment loss of 20.3 billion yuan.
At the same time, Gome also said that in 2023, the company had a goodwill impairment loss of 960 million yuan and a fixed asset impairment loss of 147 million yuan, which led to the decline of Gome's net assets from 12.132 billion yuan at the end of 2022 to 13.17 billion yuan of negative losses at the end of 2023.
At the end of 2023, Gome's net assets will drop to a loss of 13.17 billion yuan, which is a serious case of insolvency. The company has significant continuous operation risks, and its solvency has been significantly adversely affected. However, Gome said that the company would raise funds and repay related debts in various ways.
In fact, Huang Guangyu, the founder of Gome, who was released in 2021 to take charge of the company again, publicly issued a new goal and slogan that year, "strive to use the next 18 months to restore Gome's original market position."
