IT House reported on May 22 that at the Microsoft Build 2024 developer conference this morning, Microsoft announced the launch of the latest Team Copilot.
Team Copilot is an extension of Copilot for Microsoft 365. It aims to "extend Copilot beyond personal AI assistants, and can help teams improve collaboration and project management". Users will be able to call Copilot in applications such as Teams, Loop, Planner, etc.
According to Microsoft, Team Copilot mainly plays the following three roles, including:
Moderator: Make the discussion more effective by managing the agenda and making public meeting notes that can be edited by everyone.
Team collaborators: Team Copilot can help everyone make better use of the chat function, discover important information, track action projects and solve unresolved problems.
Project Manager: Team Copilot ensures the smooth operation of each project by creating and assigning tasks, tracking deadlines, and reminding team members when they need input.
Microsoft said that these features will be introduced in the form of preview version to customers with Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license later in 2024.
In addition, Microsoft has also introduced new agent functions for Copilot Studio, which aims to help developers create a Copilot that can actively respond to data and events, and can be customized for specific tasks and functions:
Automate long running business processes.
Reasoning based on operations and user input.
Use memory to introduce context.
Learn based on user feedback.
Record the exception request and ask for help.
Of course, these functions in Copilot Studio are still in the stage of preemptive experience, and Microsoft plans to widely push them later in 2024.
IT Home noticed that Microsoft also introduced new Copilot extension functions, which "allows everyone to easily customize Copilot operations and extend Copilot to their data and line of business systems".
It is reported that developers can use the Teams toolkit of Copilot Studio or Visual Studio to build these extensions; Microsoft also introduced the Copilot connector of Copilot Studio, so that developers can develop Copilot extensions faster and better.
