Transformed from a world heritage hotel, color contrast artwork brings new vitality
The hotel is located in Kazan, Russia. It was built in 1910 and was a hospital before 2000. Now it has been rated as a world cultural heritage.
In 2016, the old Turkish construction company Polimeks took over the building and started the reconstruction project. This company has built projects such as Ashgabat International Airport and TV Tower before.
There is no major change in the appearance. It focuses on repair and maintenance, repainting to reproduce the magnificence of its red wall and white roof.
In the interior, the industrial style completely different from the appearance is boldly selected. The main materials are concrete, wood, metal and plastic. Different materials are spliced and mixed.
The gray white covers the entire hotel space, and the round arches in the original building are preserved.
Red artworks of crocodiles, bears, rhinoceroses and other animals can be seen at the entrance, lobby, reception desk, corridor and other places, which is the design highlight of the hotel.
They were created by ErdilYa š aro ğ lu, a Turkish sculptor, which neutralized the coldness of concrete, added interest and fashion, and had a very visual impact.

The glass dome introduces skylight, making the elevated space more spacious. The frame with black metal texture extends from the top to the bottom, in contrast to the softness of green plants.
Red artworks are placed beside the fireplace or hung on the wall, with vivid posture, just like animals living in the forest.
The atrium is divided into two spaces by hollowed out windows, which are both transparent and private. The decoration of ferris wheel shaped candlelight, multi-color sofa and diamond shaped wall lamp is both elegant and fashionable.

The 66 guest rooms are divided into six types, including luxury, senior, comfortable and loft. The representative is Grand Suite.
Although the area of 51 ㎡ is not large for the suite, the designer skillfully used the partition to make the layout of the whole space reasonable and safe.
The hollow wooden frame separates the bedroom from the entrance, the mirror table separates the sofa area from the bedroom, and the sliding door turns the bathroom into an independent space.
The main color of the bedroom is gray, white and black, which is the same as the public area, while the sofa in bright colors such as orange is dazzling.
The bathroom uses marble and wood to show the texture collision of different materials, while the use of various geometric figures such as round, rectangular, diamond and so on adds a sense of design.
Ordinary rooms are much simpler than suites.
The yellow wooden bedside background wall is another use of cool and warm colors. The necessary hardware such as Nordic style chandeliers, floor screens, and Morandi green sofa are simple and have a sense of design.
Because the hotel was formerly a hospital, the bathroom is friendly to the elderly and the disabled, and handles and anti-skid devices are carefully designed.
