This is Wo Village, a "modern peach blossom garden". Covering an area of 8000 square meters, there are agricultural land, streams, houses and mountain gates.
In 2011, 24 middle-class families decided to raise 150 million yuan to jointly build a special "village". They include entrepreneurs, architects, doctors, foreign executives, etc., each of whom has rich experience, and even one third of them have obtained a doctorate.
For them, "luxury house" is not a single building, but a group of like-minded people living in the same settlement. So when the idea of "building a village" appeared, two or three people from the beginning, then gradually attracted friends to join, and finally formed 24 people, before starting the construction.
Architect He Chuanxin The whole village is a big house
The architect He Chuanxin is an important builder of Wocun.
Before designing Wo Village, he and his team visited the upper reaches of Nanxi River in Wenzhou to investigate the ancient settlement with a history of 100 years.
These settlements developed along the stream, built houses according to the terrain, and there were connections between the houses. The villagers' life was simple and simple, which was the most dreamy way of life in He Chuanxin's mind. Therefore, he decided to use modern architectural techniques to practice an ecological settlement where environment and people coexist.
The construction of Wo Village took 4 years in total. The land is so large that from the perspective of developers, they will build more and larger houses, but He Chuanxin doesn't think so.
He built the house on a slope with a height drop of 7 meters. It is distributed along the terrain. Each family has a terrace, and you can touch the trees with your hands.
There is no "C" in the whole village. 24 houses are divided into four rows, each with its own characteristics. The top row of houses can overlook the whole village. The second and third rows are sandwiched in the middle, which makes it feel safe to be looked after by the neighbors. The fourth row faces the farm garden, which has the broadest view.
Each house corresponds to a solar term: White Dew, Pure Brightness, Grain in Ear...... Each family's yard is planted with a "home tree" corresponding to the season, so that the residents can feel the four seasons with the change of the yard.
Go down the slope and pass through the gate of 24 residences. A stream separates the residential area from the farmland. He Chuanxin plans nearly half of the land to be farmlands for planting crops. The ancient channels and old wooden bridges used for irrigation have been preserved.
He Chuanxin said, "The whole village is like a house, built by 24 people. What we want to achieve is the ideal of an ancient settlement. There are fish in the stream for fishing, food in the vegetable field for planting, and experience the lifestyle of the ancients."
Villagers never lock their doors and have not been stolen for 10 years
Kevin moved into Wo Village 10 years ago. He is the first villager to move in. His house is called "Bailu".
He is engaged in science and technology industry. Compared with other retired residents, he is the Mesozoic era in the village. Because of the memory of living in the countryside as a child, he especially likes to live in a house with larger space in the suburbs.
Kevin's home is in the second row of the residential area. After entering from the front yard, the first floor is the living room. The house is built along the slope, so up is bedroom and private space, down is the restaurant and backyard.
In order to facilitate the children in the music class to practice, Kevin placed a classical piano and xylophone at the corner of the stairs, and planned a mid island kitchen and restaurant in the rest of the space.

Modern Peach Blossom Garden, hoping to become a century old village

The exhaust pipe of the residence can exchange air naturally When designing the exhaust duct, he makes use of the external wind force to form a low pressure inside the duct to guide the bottom airflow to rise and exhaust, so as to achieve the effect of natural ventilation.
He installed a groove on the roof of each residence to collect rainwater. The drainage ditches of each household are connected to each other, and the recycled rainwater is used to spray the green plants in the park.
Different from the asphalt floor in general residential areas, Wo Village uses "solid green grid". The outside of the grid is hard, but there are holes in the middle to let the grass grow. It looks green.
Usually, residents will feel like walking on the grass when walking, but when the car passes by, the "solid green grid" can also bear it.
He Chuanxin said: "Water permeability is very important, so that the land can breathe. When it rains, water can nourish the land. When it doesn't rain, dew will also infiltrate into the land."
Greening and water in the village can regulate the temperature. Every summer, the temperature of the whole village is 2 to 3 degrees Celsius lower than that outside.
In addition to retaining the original 60 old trees, the village has transplanted more than 100 big trees to come in: "When you see the big banyan tree, you feel at home. When the security guard sees someone coming, he will wait for you under the banyan tree and greet you.

Tree houses built in the village He Chuanxin believes that the most important thing to turn Wo Village into a "century old village" is inheritance.
He built tree houses on three old banyan trees in the village. Usually children will explore here, and adults will occasionally hold simple dinners and tea parties here. It has become a place to connect the feelings between adults and children. When children grow up, they will also have good memories.
Several old stoves have been set up in the village, all of which can be used normally. When the weather is fine, the villagers pick mulberry from the orchard, pull vegetables from the vegetable garden, bake sweet potatoes and corn here, drink tea and coffee together, share homemade jam, and the children chase games on the grass.
There is also a "walk around the village" outside the village, starting from the entrance, connecting every household and every public area, surrounded by green plants and fruit trees, each season has a different landscape. In such an environment, when people meet on the road, they will naturally stop and talk to each other.
