The solution to the problem that FTP information is required when WordPress prompts an error when connecting to the server when upgrading the pagoda panel

Install WordPress with the pagoda panel After you upgrade WordPress or install WordPress plug-in An error message appears: Error: Error connecting to the server, please check the settings

The error interface is shown in the following figure:

The reason why this error prompt appears and requires you to enter FTP information is that your server file and folder permissions are not set correctly.

The pagoda panel solves the FTP account information required by WordPress as follows:

1. Log in to the pagoda panel and enter the folder on your website. As shown in the figure below, you can see that the permissions and owners are 755 and root, respectively. The correct ones are 755 and www, so we just need to modify them.

2. First select all files and folders, and then click the permission button in the upper right corner. In the pop-up interface, select 755 permission and www owner, and then confirm to solve the problem.

If you don't use the pagoda panel, you just need to change the folder permissions and owners to 755 and www to solve the problem of FTP permissions when upgrading WordPress or installing WordPress plug-ins and themes.
