In the early morning of May 16, a fire broke out in a BYD 4S store in Fuzhou, Fujian. BYD officially issued a statement on May 16, emphasizing that "combustion material" does not mean "ignition source", but two different concepts. At present, BYD is actively cooperating with relevant departments for further investigation.
BYD Auto said in the official statement:
On May 16, a fire broke out in our sales exhibition hall in Minhou County, Fuzhou City, and no casualties were caused by the fire emergency.
From the relevant videos, in the initial stage of the fire, the open fire was located on the roof of the second floor, and there was no open fire in the exhibition car glass hall on the first floor. It was preliminarily judged that the fire was located in the office or roof of the second floor, and it could not be ruled out that the fire was caused by short circuit or aging of the circuit.
At the same time, through the background data retrieval, the batteries of the vehicles in the exhibition hall were normal, which also ruled out the possibility caused by the vehicles.
In addition, according to the knowledge of the Fire Department, "combustion substance" does not mean "ignition source", but belongs to two different concepts.
We are deeply concerned about this matter and will actively cooperate with relevant departments for further investigation.
