The fourth generation new European continent GT will be launched in June, which is the first model based on Bentley Brand new super high-performance plug-in hybrid system.
The new Continental GT has a maximum power of 782 horsepower, a peak torque of 1000 N · m, a pure electric range of 80 km, and a comprehensive carbon dioxide emissions of less than 50 g/km under WLTP driving conditions, which marks an important step for Bentley towards the future. This model will not only become the most powerful and dynamic road model in Bentley's 105 year history, but also the most sustainable product. It also contains Bentley's unique luxury craftsmanship and excellent materials.
The latest generation of chassis technology includes active four-wheel drive system with torque vector distribution, all wheel steering system, electronic limited slip differential, 48V active anti roll control system and advanced new double valve shock absorber. New design and a series of innovative technologies have jointly created the latest generation model that defines modern Bentley cars.
Since its debut in 2002, the Continental GT model has opened a new chapter for Bentley brand. This model has promoted the commercial development of Bentley, increased its sales tenfold, and redefined the modern style of Bentley. The design inspiration and performance concept of the Continental GT model are both derived from the Continental R model in 1952. It was the fastest ultra luxury four seater car in the world at that time, defined the ultra luxury sports travel car, and got its name as a long-distance car used to cross the European continent. The Continental GT models use the same three key design lines - power line, rear waist line and roof curve.
The launch of Continental GT models has had a profound impact - within four years, the annual sales of Bentley cars jumped from about 1000 to more than 10000. In 2010, the second generation Continental GT made its debut in Paris, accepted orders in October of that year, and began delivery in early 2011. The model was initially equipped with W12 engine, and then an optional 4.0 liter V8 engine was added in 2012. The third generation Continental GT, launched in 2018, is based on a new dedicated platform, with new engines, new suspension, new electrical architecture, new technology and new interior and exterior decoration design, which together set a new benchmark for the ultra luxury GT model segment with fierce competition today.
In the past 20 years, Continental GT has continuously broken the speed record and won the laurels in the world championship and endurance race. Today, EuroGT is the second most popular model of Bentley brand (only second to Tianyue), and one of the three Bentley cars sold is EuroGT. At the beginning of next year, the 100000th set of this iconic ultra luxury sports travel car will be handcrafted in Bentley's "Dream Factory" located in the headquarters of Crewe, England.
