Beijing, May 21 (Reporter Zhang Cong) The public interest litigation case on ship pollution control in the Yangtze River of the Supreme People's Procuratorate has been completed. According to statistics, during the special case period, the procuratorial organ touched 652 cables and filed 602 cases; Among them, 592 administrative public interest lawsuits, 10 civil public interest lawsuits, and 16 lawsuits were filed, all of which were supported by court decisions. Through the handling of cases, we urged to clean up the polluted waters and mudflats with an area of more than 610000 square meters, and clean up more than 1400 tons of sludge and solid waste, which strongly promoted the treatment of ship pollution system.

It is understood that on May 6, 2022, the Supreme People's Procuratorate decided to file a public interest lawsuit against the ship pollution problem in the Yangtze River, and the four level procuratorates performed their duties in an integrated manner, effectively promoting the solution of the problems such as the non-standard disposal of ship pollutants, the imperfect construction and poor operation of reception, transfer and disposal facilities, the non-uniform charging model of ship pollutants, and the illegal dismantling of ships that pollute the environment The problem of blocking points will promote the linkage of the whole basin and the coordinated governance of multiple departments.

With regard to the direct discharge of pollutants from ships that do not meet the standards, inaccurate records of receipt and transfer, fraudulent disposal, and illegal disposal after landing, the procuratorial organ filed 181 cases, urged and punished 52 enterprises, 78 individuals, 103 ships, and promoted 1745 ships to improve pollution prevention facilities.

In view of the problems such as the construction of special terminals for receiving pollutants from ships does not meet the requirements, the facilities for receiving pollutants from ships in port terminals are not perfect, and idling, the procuratorial organs have filed 112 cases of public interest litigation, promoted the construction of 479 new facilities for receiving pollutants from ships in port terminals, and accelerated the construction of 89 special terminals and 216 sets of shore power facilities.
