"International Tea Day" takes you to know the eight tea districts in Zhenyuan, Yunnan

May 21 is the "International Tea Day" established by the United Nations. As a large tea production and consumption country, China's tea industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Take the Yuan Yi, Hani and Lahu Autonomous County in Puer City, Yunnan Province, which is located in the core production area of Puer tea. By the end of 2023, there will be 386000 mu of local tea trees, and the comprehensive output value of the whole industrial chain will reach 2.165 billion yuan.

Entering Zhenyuan, there are eight tea mountains with rich tea resources, including Ma Deng, Laohaitang, Kepenqing, Dazun Mountain, Laowu Mountain, Wuyi, Qianjiazhai, and Chashanqing. Each tea mountain has its unique charm.

Qianjiazhai Tea District belongs to Ailao Mountain System, with four villages of Heping, Santai, Guoji and Jiujia in Jiujia Town, Zhenyuan County as the core area, covering four surrounding villages such as climbing high. Tea has the quality characteristics of "rich fragrance and strong taste".

Madeng Tea District takes Madeng, Maidi, Aolong and Xuetang villages in Zhedong Town, Zhenyuan County as the core area, covering 14 villages around and in Guangshan, Heping Town. Madeng tea is a famous tea in the traditional history of Zhenyuan County and one of the eight famous teas in Yunnan. Tea has the quality characteristics of "fragrant, sweet and smooth".

Wuyi Tea District belongs to the immeasurable mountain system, with Wuyi Village, Enle Town, Zhenyuan County as the core area, covering 10 villages including Enle, Dianban and the ancient city. The tea has the quality characteristics of "pure fragrance and fresh taste".

Laowushan Tea Area is the largest ancient tea area in Zhenyuan County. It includes two towns of Zhenyuan County, namely Zhenban and Zhentai. It takes six villages of Nabu, Luojia, Wenli, Tangfang, Wenbo and Shahe as the core area, and covers 14 villages of surrounding three towns, namely Jinban, Zhentai and Mengda. Tea has the quality of "bitter and sweet grow together, fresh and mellow for a long time".

Dazunshan Tea District takes three villages, Taitou, Shanjie and Jiepai, Zhentai Town, Zhenyuan County, as the core area, covering 13 villages in Zhoubianwenping. Tea has the quality characteristics of "fragrant flowers, sweet and mellow".

With Wenkuang Village in Mengda Town as the core area, the Kepenqing Tea District covers 15 villages around Kuda, Baishui, Banpo, and Wendou. The tea has the quality characteristics of "thick, plump, and dense". The tea area is surrounded by rich forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 66%. It is an excellent place to enjoy the forest secret land with tea fragrance.

Chashanqing Tea District belongs to the immeasurable mountain system, with Minqiang Village, Tianba Township, Zhenyuan County as the core area, covering two villages including Sanhe in the surrounding area. Tea has the quality characteristics of "harmony, fullness, sweetness and mellowness".

Old Haitang has a long history. The tea area takes Lijia and Waqiao villages in Tianba Township, Zhenyuan County as the core area, covering three villages around Chahe. The tea has the quality characteristics of "strong fragrance, lasting, mellow, soft and sweet".

Self driving tour route 2: Zhenyuan → Enle Wuyi → Dieban Laowu Mountain (Luojia) → Dieban Laowu Mountain (Wenli) → Zhentai Dazhu Mountain → Mengda Kepenqing. Total mileage: 233 km, estimated time: 6 hours and 35 minutes.

Self driving route 3: Zhenyuan → Tianba Chashanqing → Tianba Laohaitang → Dianban Laowu Mountain (Luojia) → Dianban Laowu Mountain (Wenli) → Zhentai Dazhu Mountain → Mengda Kepanqing. Total mileage: 326km, estimated time: 8 hours and 45 minutes.
