Recently, villagers in Liutian Village, Yangliu Town, Xuanwei City, Yunnan Province reported the safety problems of coal mining in the village through the message board of People's Daily Online, It is hoped that the relevant departments will arrange staff to come here for inspection and safety assessment.

Recently, Yangliu Town, Xuanwei City replied to netizens' messages through the "Leaders Message Board" of People's Daily Online. The reply said that after receiving the message, the party committee and government of Yangliu Town attached great importance to it and immediately arranged the deputy mayor and Bao Village cadres to organize and lead the relevant functional departments of the town to verify and deal with it.

The message replied that, after investigation and verification, the Gewu Village Group of Liutian Village Committee in Yangliu Town is located 17 kilometers east of the government residence, with 180 households and 619 people. Most buildings in the village are located in the middle and upper part of the mountain slope. Zaowei Coal Mine of Xuanwei Zaowei Mining Co., Ltd. is a private enterprise under the jurisdiction of Zaowei Village Committee of Shuanghe Township, Xuanwei City. Its legal representative is Tan XX, and its mining area is 6.1499 square kilometers. The coal mining area is located in Liutian Village Committee, Yangliu Town, which borders the Zaowei Village Committee of Shuanghe Township.

In April 2023, Xuanwei Zaowei Mining Co., Ltd. entrusted the technical unit to carry out deformation monitoring on the surface and structures of Gegu Village Committee, Liutian Village Committee, Pingtian Village and Gewu Village, Shuanghe Township, Xuanwei City, and arranged patrol monitors in the village for daily monitoring.

"According to the verification, the cracking of Gewu Peak of Liutian Village Committee is true." The People's Government of Yangliu Town introduced in the message reply that on January 31 and February 4, 2024, Xuanwei Natural Resources Bureau organized experts to the site for verification. Through checking the cracks on the top of the mountain and comparing with the data one year ago, there was no obvious change in the cracks. "According to the monitoring data of Team 317 of Yunnan Nonferrous Geology Bureau, there is no obvious change in the surface monitoring points and buildings, the monitoring values at the monitoring points tend to be stable, and the deformation monitoring area has gradually become stable."

On February 6, 2024, the main leaders of Xuanwei Municipal Party Committee and Municipal People's Government went to Liutian Village Committee to make a field inspection, put forward rectification measures for the problems of Yangliu Town Party Committee and the town government, and asked Zaowei Coal Mine to coordinate with the people to solve the problems raised by the people. On March 21, 2024, the deputy mayor in charge of the work in Yangliu Town, the cadres of Bao Village and the staff of the village committee organized He XX, the mass representative of Gewu Village of Liutian Village Committee, and others to sign the disposal agreement with Tan XX, the legal representative of Zaowei Mining Co., Ltd.

In the message reply, The People's Government of Yangliu Town made clear the next step, saying that it would urge Xuanwei Zaowei Mining Co., Ltd. to do a good job in monitoring and early warning, arrange emergency shelters, and implement emergency evacuation and avoidance measures.
