Kunming, our newspaper, June 5 (Reporter Ye Chuanzeng) The reporter learned from China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that on the morning of June 5, after more than 900 days of day and night fighting, the Daqing Mountain Tunnel of Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway was safely completed. The Daqing Mountain Tunnel is a key control project of the Yunnan section of the Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway, and it is also the longest tunnel through at present, laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the whole line.

The Daqing Mountain Tunnel is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, with a total length of 4976 meters. It is a single hole double track tunnel and was constructed by China Railway 24th Bureau. The tunnel passes through a variety of complex geological conditions. At the same time, the tunnel crosses Shanghai Kunming High speed Railway and New Songkun Expressway on the top, oil and gas pipelines and power supply tower of Changshui Airport on the bottom, with high safety risks and great construction difficulties. Among them, the shortest distance between the tunnel and the Shanghai Kunming High speed Railway is only 15 meters, and the structural distance is very close in China.

Since the commencement of construction on March 28, 2022, the Yunnan Central Railway Construction Headquarters of Kunming Railway Bureau of China Railway has ensured the orderly progress of tunnel construction by optimizing excavation and support measures and strengthening the control of key processes.

In order to ensure the safety and quality of tunnel construction can be controlled, the tunnel research team chose to carry out mechanical excavation after the Shanghai Kunming High speed Railway stopped at night, and use intelligent equipment to detect the deformation and vibration of the tunnel in real time. The average monthly excavation footage of the tunnel was about 70 meters, and the whole tunnel was completed one year ahead of the planned construction period.

Chongqing Kunming high-speed railway is a key component of Beijing Kunming channel of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. At present, 15 of the 63 tunnels in Yunnan section of Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway have been completed, and the construction of 10 key control projects of bridges and tunnels is progressing smoothly. As the first high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 km/h in Yunnan Province, it is expected that the travel time from Chongqing to Kunming will be shortened from 5 hours to about 2 hours at the maximum after the whole line is completed and opened to traffic.
