Lhasa, people.com.cn, May 10 (Reporter Wu Yuren) On May 9, with the last truck of stones dumped into the main river bed Longkou, Tibet Pazi Water Control Project and the matching irrigation area project, one of the 150 major water conservancy projects determined by the State Council and the national major water conservancy project currently under construction at the highest altitude in China, successfully closed the river.

The project is located in Angren County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region. The normal pool level of the reservoir is 4325m. The project consists of a pivotal project, a water supply project and a supporting irrigation area project. The main dam is an asphalt concrete core dam with a height of 108 meters; The irrigation area project is arranged with 6 main canals with a total length of 83.72 kilometers. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 375 million cubic meters, the average annual water supply is 19.07 million cubic meters, the designed irrigation area is 42800 mu, the installed capacity of the power station is 58 MW, and the average annual power generation is 206 million kilowatt hours.

"This river closure has many problems, such as large flow, fast flow rate, deep water at the mouth of the dragon, high river bed level, large closure drop, and narrow site." Lou Xufeng, project director of Tibet Pazi Water Control Project and Supporting Irrigation Area Project of Sinohydro Foundation Bureau Co., Ltd., introduced that the project ensured the successful closure on schedule through joint adjustment, optimization and adjustment of discharge flow and other measures.

It is reported that the completion of the Pazi Water Control Project and the supporting irrigation area project can improve the irrigation assurance rate of the irrigation area at the downstream of the reservoir and effectively alleviate the spring drought and winter drought in the irrigation area; Basically solve the problem of power shortage in winter in five counties of Shigatse City; It can also provide reliable and high-quality drinking water to the county seat.
