The reporter learned from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region that at present, the autonomous region (excluding the Corps) has 27 parks involving the textile and clothing industry, which is undertaking the important mission of building a new pattern of regional economy and driving a new engine of regional industrial economy.

27 parks involving textile and garment industry are distributed in 9 regions (states and cities) including Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, Aksu Prefecture, among which 23 are national and provincial industrial parks. Among the 27 parks, the South Xinjiang regional parks account for 60%. In 2023, 27 parks will achieve an output value of 44 billion yuan, accounting for 72.6% of the total in southern Xinjiang. The goal of structural adjustment proposed by the autonomous region of accounting for more than 50% of the total output in southern Xinjiang's textile and clothing industry has been fulfilled in advance.

In recent years, around the "eight industrial clusters", the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the autonomous region has promoted the development of the textile and clothing industry chain in the autonomous region through the guidance of policy advantages. The textile and clothing industry in the autonomous region has formed an industrial pattern with Aksu Textile Industrial City, Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone, Bachu County Textile and Clothing Industrial Park and other comprehensive textile and clothing industrial bases as the leading industries, and local characteristic textile and clothing industrial parks as the coordinated development.

In the first four months, the industrial added value of textile and clothing enterprises above designated size in Xinjiang increased by 21% year on year, 22.2 percentage points higher than that of the same period last year. Among them, the textile industry increased by 20.7% year on year, and the chemical fiber manufacturing industry increased by 34.1% year on year. Textile enterprises above designated size saw a year-on-year growth of 5.5% in yarn production, 64% in fabric production, 49.3% in chemical fiber production, and 13.95 times in chemical filament woven fabric production.

In the next step, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the Autonomous Region will continue to promote the extension of the textile and clothing industry to the downstream, promote the integrated development of chemical fiber and textile, and further improve the conversion rate of cotton in Xinjiang. At the same time, we will accelerate the development of new quality productivity and promote the high-quality cluster development of the industrial chain. (Ma Yining)
