Recently, the National Peking Opera Theater held the 2024 Spring Conference, and Wang Yong, the president of the National Peking Opera Theater, introduced the key work of 2024 in terms of repertoire creation and arrangement, performance and broadcasting, and industrial development. In terms of new repertoire, the modern Peking Opera "Old Aunt" and the new historical drama "New Return to Homeland" focus on realistic and historical themes. The Peking Opera "Peony Pavilion" and "Women's History" endow the classic works with special interest. The scene concert "Spring and Autumn" forms a chord of literature and music in the stage performance.

In order to deeply cultivate the two major performance brands of "the sound of spring" and "the charm of autumn", the theater will launch the 2024 "the sound of spring" performance season during the "May Day" holiday and the 2024 "the charm of autumn" performance season during the "National Day" holiday to present the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China with the quintessence of Beijing Opera.

This year coincides with the centenary of the birth of Zhang Chunhua, Cheng Yanqiu, Mei Lanfang, Ye Shenglan and other famous artists. The theater will successively launch "Wu Yue Chunhua - Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Mr. Zhang Chunhua's birth and the fourth martial arts performance of the National Peking Opera Academy", "Qu Yi Cheng · Qing Yi Cheng - Commemorating the 120th anniversary of Mr. Cheng Yanqiu's birth" in May, June, October and November "Magnificent -- Series Performance to Commemorate the 130th Anniversary of Mr. Mei Lanfang's Birthday" and "Deep rooted -- Series Performance to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of Mr. Ye Shenglan's Birthday" reproduce the classic works of Peking Opera masters, remember the noble virtues of the ancestors and inherit exquisite skills in the performance.

In addition, the National Peking Opera Theater will continue to carry out tours of new and classic plays. The new historical drama "Returning to the Song Dynasty" and the modern Peking Opera "Leading Role" Xiong'an Family "Old Aunt", classic plays "The Red Light", "The Phoenix Returns to its Nest", and "The Dragon and the Phoenix Bring Prosperity" will tour around the country.
