At present, the value of renewable resources that can be recycled in China is about 300 billion yuan. The recovery rate of waste plastics is 25%, the recovery rate of waste rubber is 32%, the recovery rate of waste paper is 35%, and the recovery rate of waste glass is only 13%. The annual recovery of scrap steel and iron in our city is more than 300000 tons, the annual recovery of waste paper is 320000 tons, and the annual recovery of waste glass is 225000 tons. The recovery rate of waste steel resources is about 60%, the recovery rate of waste non-ferrous metals is about 30%, the recovery rate of waste paper is about 40%, the recovery rate of waste plastics is about 20%, the recovery rate of waste rubber is about 10%, and the recovery rate of waste glass is about 18%. In recent years, the municipal government has attached great importance to this work, constantly focused on it, put it on the important work agenda, actively guided the society to enhance the awareness of resource conservation and environmental protection, and worked hard to improve the social attention, support and participation in the cause of resource regeneration. Commerce, supply and marketing and other departments played a major role.

Resource recycling industry is an industry with resource recovery, comprehensive utilization and the formation of new resources as its main content. According to relevant statistics, during the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period, the total amount of renewable resources recovered in China was about 400 million tons, with an average annual recovery of about 80 million tons, with an average annual growth rate of more than 12%; The total recovery value of major renewable resources exceeded 650 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of more than 20%. In 2005, the total value of waste materials recovery in China reached 130 billion yuan, accounting for 0.7% of GDP in 2005. In 2005, the annual output of scrap steel was nearly 60 million tons, the annual output of scrap non-ferrous metals was 3.7 million tons, and the annual output of waste paper was 18.09 million tons; There are nearly 6000 recycling enterprises and 150000 recycling online stores all over the country.
