1 Overview
First of all, Xiamen University has three campuses, namely, Haiyun (the headquarters is close to Haiyun, so they belong to the same place), Xiang'an and Zhangzhou (Zhangzhou is not the same campus now, and it is generally known as the Kahgeng College).

The starting point is the headquarters, and the ending point is Xiang'an Campus, both in Xiamen. Zhangzhou Campus is in Zhangzhou, not in Xiamen. The difference between campuses is the difference between colleges. When you apply for a volunteer, there are signs in the back of the campus!
Xiang'an Campus has the School of Life Sciences, the School of Environment and Ecology, the School of Oceans and Earth, the School of Energy, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health, the School of Overseas Education, the School of International Studies, and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (under construction, the students of this school are still teaching in this department).
Our school has three semesters a year. Generally, the first semester is from the middle of September to January of the next year, the second semester is from March to the end of June, and the third semester is from the end of June to the end of July.
The result is that when you go home every summer vacation, your high school classmates have stayed at home for a month. You want to say that our classmates will get together. People are tired of getting together for a long time. The winter vacation is about 30 days, and the summer vacation is about 45 days. Every time I compare with other schools in the vacation, I secretly like the high value of tuition==.
Speaking of tuition, in our campus, except for the medical school, which is free of charge, the international college tuition is about 40000 yuan (not international luxury, the details are not clear), and the overseas education college is not clear (students are from all over the world), the rest are priced at 5460 yuan, and the accommodation fee is 1200 yuan for all colleges.
2. Learning
(1) Teaching building
This is the place for students to have classes. All classes are held here except for computer related classes such as C language and experimental classes. Five floors with elevators. The most uncomfortable place is that there is no air conditioner installed yet! However, in the previous paragraph, there was a call for public opinion on whether to install air conditioners or not, and the specific results have not yet come out.
3. Life
Canteen: divided into Phase I Canteen and Phase II Canteen. Phase I canteen has three floors, the first floor is rice and vegetables, dumplings and noodles, festival food will be added, for example, recently there has been meat dumplings (as a northerner, I love eating sweet dumplings tears down). The second floor has a Muslim canteen in addition to the first floor. There is no Muslim canteen in Phase II canteen. It's really hard for those students who live in Phase II but want to have a Muslim meal. The third floor is the place selling snacks from all over the country. The second phase is similar to the first phase, but it is a little more simple than the first phase. Phase I canteen is close to Phase I dormitory, and Phase II canteen is close to Phase II dormitory.

In the second phase dormitory, undergraduates have a small room for two and a large room for eight. There is a living room, two bathrooms and two bathrooms in the large room. I didn't live in the second phase, nor did I find it on the Internet.

Travel
Because we are in the new campus, we can see from the picture that it is not very convenient to travel. Take the bus to the headquarters for one and a half hours, and take the school bus for 45 minutes. It takes a long time to go out and play by car, which may be the reason why Xiang'an Campus has a good learning atmosphere.
However, the school has also taken some measures, such as the school bus to the headquarters on Saturday and Sunday. During winter and summer vacations, school buses are sent to the airport and railway station.

First of all, it is hard to find internships. There are not many opportunities in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. After all, Xiamen is not a first tier city. Secondly, Xiamen has no key schools like 985 except Xiamen University. Unlike you in Beijing, some areas are surrounded by famous schools, so you can attend a class. Communication between schools is very convenient. Finally, the primary school is really too hot, walking on the road minute by minute evaporation.
Having said so much, finally I want to say that I still like our school on the whole (everyone should think that their alma mater is good==). I chose it because it is in Xiamen and the air is good (the main lung is not good). I must catch a cold twice a year when I am at home. Although the dormitory of Xiamen University is not as good as the one posted on the Internet, it is also very good. In the higher floors, you can really see the sea, which is very beautiful. Then the dormitory conditions of Haiyun are very good. The independent balcony has hot water and air conditioning, However, the best one is the dormitory in Xiang'an. Undergraduate students also have two bedrooms. It seems that there is a small living room for all kinds of rooms
When I first entered the school, the dormitory table was very good. Our dormitory park is almost a botanical garden. There are often various birds chirping, cicadas chirping, and various kittens in the park, lying lazily on the corridor in the afternoon.
About life:
In general, life in Xiamen University is very leisurely and beautiful. Xiamen University is a school that is very convenient for students. Take my own life for example, there are two supermarkets downstairs of my dormitory, including print shops, shoes repair, umbrellas repair, etc. Life is very convenient. The canteen is basically five minutes away, and the dormitory is only 15 minutes away from the classroom.
If you want to go out of school, it is also very convenient. The beach and Hulishan Fort are just outside the Baicheng School Gate, Zengcuo'an or Zhongshan Road are just a few stops away by bus, Nanputuo Temple is just outside the South Gate, Haiyun is just outside the Furong Tunnel, and there are many delicious food from the West Gate, Xicun, Fuwanbang, and many delicious food, but it will be a little expensive, After all, there are a lot of tourists, and then walk a few steps to Shapowei, the West Art District and the World Trade Center, which are all suitable places for shopping. For example, the South Hall and the Qunxian Building. I heard that the lower part of the main body of the building was Western style, and the top of the building was Chinese style. 1. Few internship opportunities. This has something to do with the geographical location of Xiamen. I can only say that my native roommates in southern Fujian and many of my classmates in Fujian are very friendly. They have kept in touch until now and will be friends for life; But objectively speaking, we have met many Fujian people who form cliques and speak dialects in our four years of life. Moreover, as a northerner, we came to this southern school with a sense of estrangement. Although I feel a little unhappy, I will not blame my alma mater for this. After all, the isolation of Xiamen Island makes people have some island awareness.
3. Relatively speaking, it is anti intellectual. I think this may be a common problem in some comprehensive universities, especially in Xiamen University, a scenic place. Relatively speaking, especially in my freshman year and sophomore year, being a student bully is often unpopular. I have to make my spare time life colorful to get along well; During the senior year, there were more job seekers and even entrepreneurs than expected. Many people went abroad to review English suddenly, and there was almost no market for postgraduate entrance examination.
In contrast to the undergraduate students' attitude of "enjoying youth", the masters and doctors are crazy about academic research in the college and department libraries, so that many domestic databases rank first in terms of large usage.
In short, my opinion is that if you love freedom and want to enjoy the passion of youth, Xiamen University is suitable for you; If you are a technology house, please be careful.

Xiamen University, or XMU for short, was founded in 1921 by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader.
