Yes, it is a pretty decent job in China. Being an actor not only means a huge amount of money, but also means a relatively high social status. In fact, many youngsters and adults give up what they have learnt in the university or their current jobs and move to the Hengdian World Studios, the largest  film base in China, to pursue their dreams of acting.
