Spoken IELTS Part 1 Analysis of answer to model text: Science
This Part 1 mainly focuses on natural science, but it does not delve into the principles of natural science, but only asks people whether they are interested in natural science, when they come into contact with natural science and other daily issues. I believe that as long as you have received compulsory education, and learned physics, chemistry, biology, geography and other natural sciences, you can say a lot.
Do you like science? Do you like science?
Yes, I do. Science satisfies my curiosity towards the principles underlying various natural phenomena and helps me gain a deeper understanding of how the university operates, like why we first see the lightning and then hear the thunder, and why the eclipse of the sun happens.

When did you start learning about science? When did you begin to understand natural science?
If my memory serves me right, it should be the first grade of my primary school. Back then, we had a subject simply called Science, which introduced basic theories in physics, chemistry, geography, biology and so on. But its primary aim was to arouse our interest rather than impart some tangible knowledge.
If I remember correctly, it should be the first grade of primary school. At that time, we had a course called Natural Science. It introduces some basic theories in physics, chemistry, geography, biology and other fields. But its main purpose is to stimulate our interest, not to impart some practical knowledge.
Which science subject is interesting to you? Which science course do you think is interesting?
Almost all of them. But I am especially keen on chemistry. You know, compared to other subjects, chemical experiments are fascinating. After combining two components, you can get a brand new material. It is magic.

What kinds of interesting things have you done with science? What interesting things have you done with science?
I have made a sky lantern by myself. It is like a smaller version of the fire balloon and can ascend high into the air, floating for quite a while. In it, I put a piece of paper, on which I had written down several of my wishes, hoping they could come true one day.
I made Kongming Lantern myself. It is like a miniature hot-air balloon, which can fly high into the air and float for a period of time. I put a note in it, on which I wrote a few wishes, hoping that they will come true one day.
