The first part of the fourth set of listening questions of Cambridge IELTS 13 consists of 10 personal information filling questions. Although the scene is not very common, it is not very difficult. Analysis of Listening Answers of Cambridge IELTS 13 Test 4 Section 1

Answer to question 1: finance

Corresponding original text: now I work in the customer services department but I did my initial training in Finance

Answer analysis: The original text has set the interference item customer services, but there is initial at finance, which is more consistent with the first limit in the question stem, so the answer can be determined.

Answer to question 2: math/math/mathematics

Corresponding original text: I didn’t do well in my exams at school and I was really worried because I failed  Maths 

Answer analysis: It was mentioned in the recording that Alex did not do well in the school exam. He was very worried because he failed in mathematics. That is, mathematics is not qualified, so the answer is locked.

Answer to question 3: business

Answer analysis: The interference item 18 is set in the recording, but because the question stem asks Youngest, 18 is excluded and 17 is selected.

Answer to question 5: today (s)/vacuation (s)

Corresponding original text: But you get the same number of days' holiday as everyone else

Answer analysis: according to the rhythm of the question and answer, the original word "same" appears, "amount" is replaced by "number", and the overall structure remains unchanged. The answer is "today" according to the modifier relationship.

Answer to question 6: college

Corresponding original text: MARTHA:  Do you have to spend any time in  college ?

ALEX:  Yes, one day each month.

Answer analysis: Martha first gives suggestions, then Alex gives affirmation, and mentions the clue words in the question stem. This kind of question is becoming more and more common after Sword 10, mainly to examine everyone's short-term memory ability.

Answer to question 7: location

Corresponding original text: Yes, it's very close to the train station so the location’s  a real advantage.

Answer: It is mentioned in the recording that the company is close to the railway station, so the location is an advantage. The question stem replaces real advantage with conventional to lock the location.

Answer to question 8: jeans

Corresponding original text: Nothing too casual – like jeans , for example.

Answer analysis: From the question stem, we can infer that the space should be filled with some kind of clothes, and it is negative. Although jacket, skirt and trousers are mentioned later, they are recommended clothes, and only Jens meets the requirements.

Answer to question 9: late

Corresponding original text: well I know it’s really obvious but arrive in plenty of time. They hate people who are  late

Answer: It is mentioned in the recording that they hate people being late. That is, don't be late, so lock late as the correct answer.

Answer to question 10: smile

Corresponding original text: And one other useful piece of advice my manager told me before I had the interview for this job – is to  smile
