Answer to question 1: 4

Corresponding original text: CAROL : She’s three now but she turns four next month.

DIRECTOR : I’ll put  four down because that’s how old she’ll be when she starts.

Answer analysis: women say their children are 3 years old now and 4 years old next month, and men say that they will be registered as 4 years old, so the answer is 4, not 3. In Section 1 of IELTS listening, it often occurs that the former gives two choices and waits for the latter to determine. Don't worry when you hear the first person talking. When the second person finishes speaking, the answer will be very clear.

Answer to question 2: 46 Wombat

Corresponding original text: It’s  46 Wombat Road , that’s W-O-M-B-A-T.  Woodside 4032

Answer analysis: examine the spelling of address and name. But in the recording, m reads like n. Confused students can pay more attention to the difference between the two nasal sounds.

Answer to question 3: Thursday

Corresponding original text: DIRECTOR : Mmm.   I’ll check.  Monday’s fine, but I think the centre is already full for Wednesday.  Erm.  Yes.  Sorry.  It seems to be a very popular day.  We can offer you a Thursday or a Friday as well.

CAROL : Oh dear.   I suppose  Thursday  would be all right because she has swimming on Friday.

Answer analysis: men gave Thursday and Friday two choices, while women affirmed Thursday and denied Friday.

Answer to question 4: 8.30

I need to get to work in the city by 9:00 so I'll drop her off at 8:30

Answer analysis: It is not difficult to find the position of the answer to this question, but 8 is very light and difficult to identify. Students who didn't hear clearly at the beginning can speculate slightly according to the context.

Answer to question 5: red

Corresponding original text: Well.  I’ll put her in the red group and we can always change her to the green one if there are any problems.

Answer analysis: It was the male who gave two choices, and finally the female chose the red group. Again, we must wait until the latter speaks to determine the answer. Never speculate unless you have to.

Answer to question 6: lunch

Answer: glasses means glasses, which we should have learned in junior high school.

Answer analysis: Even the simplest names in IELTS listening will be spelled, so people don't need to remember names when they review.

Answer to question 9: grant

Corresponding original text: Great.  So she is the child’s  aunt

Answer analysis: When examining kinship, words are not difficult to spell, and they are also very heavy to read, which almost belong to the question of giving points.

Answer to question 10: month

Corresponding original text: You can choose to pay at the end of each term or we do offer a slightly discounted rate if you pay  every month
