Today, the Old Roast Duck Editor will introduce you to the questions about the order of the IELTS test and the different situations of the order of the IELTS test in different regions.

First, the IELTS test is divided into four subjects: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Among them, the first three subjects are written examination subjects, and oral examination subjects are interview subjects. The two are not tested at the same time, but separated, requiring two admission passes and two security checks.

Mainland IELTS Test Order

Oral or written examination first? In the early years, when the number of people taking the IELTS test was relatively small, the oral test was generally arranged in the afternoon of the written test or the day after. The examinee will prepare for the oral exam after the written exam. However, with the increase of the number of people taking the IELTS test, the time of the oral IELTS test has become uncertain. It may be scheduled on any day of the week before or after the written examination. But the good news is that the IELTS official has also opened the service of speaking time reservation. What is the order of the written examination? At present, the written IELTS test in mainland China is in the order of listening, reading and writing. The listening lasts for 40 minutes, usually from 9:00 to 9:40. Reading lasts for an hour, usually from 9:50 to 10:50. Writing lasts for an hour, usually from 11:00 to 12:00. The reason why we say "average" here is that the specific time of the IELTS test is completely decided by the invigilator. If there is any accident in the exam room, he can completely postpone the test. However, the time of each subject will not change. Only the time of beginning and ending may change. Oral or written examination first? In some test sites abroad, which are relatively small in scale and have relatively few reference numbers, we still adhere to the habit of taking oral tests in the afternoon of the test day. However, some large test centers are the same as those in China. The oral test time may be randomly arranged one week before or one week after the written test. Therefore, everyone should make preparations in advance and arrange their travel time.

What is the order of the written examination? At present, the order of IELTS test in Southeast Asia is the same as that in mainland China, which is listening first, reading second, and writing last. However, in South Korea, Australia and other regions, the order of examination is reading first, then writing, and finally listening. But the content of the exam is not too different.
