history

On March 19, 1899, Charles "Cheers" Wakefield established an oil company in Britain. Ten years later, he produced a new type of lubricating oil, which revolutionized the transportation industry in the first half of the 20th century. He called this new type of lubricating oil Castrol. Since then, a great name has been born, and today Castrol is still a symbol of high quality, high performance and cutting-edge lubricating oil technology.

Our success stems mainly from the philosophy of Charles Wakefield. When developing new Castrol lubricants, he sought the help of customers and encouraged them to participate together, because he foresaw that only mutual cooperation could achieve win-win results. This theory is still applicable today.

Charles Wakefield has played an important role in the rapidly developing transportation industry. R&D field
