Group Registration for Unpublished Works (GRUW)

On March 15, 2019, the Copyright Office implemented a group registration option for unpublished works. This option is called Group Registration for Unpublished Works (GRUW) and may be used to register up to ten unpublished works for a single fee. This option replaced the prior accommodation for registering multiple unpublished works as part of an “unpublished collection” using an online application or a paper form.

Applicants are required to use a new application form specifically designed for this group option and must submit the application and required digital deposit copies through the electronic Copyright Office (eCO) registration portal .

This page provides resources and guidance for the GRUW procedure.
