According to the test, the graphene coating technology developed by the team led by Zhao Jinping, Ph.D. of the Institute of Metals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chief scientist of Beijing Shengmeng Technology Co., Ltd., can increase the specific capacity of lithium ion battery cathode materials by 15% - 25%, and increase the capacity retention rate by 30% - 40% after 1000 cycles; The capacity of the negative electrode material is increased by 40% - 45%, and the capacity retention rate after 1000 cycles is increased by 35% - 50%.
This means that the application of graphene coated lithium ion positive and negative material technology to the vehicle power battery is expected to improve the energy density of the current ternary lithium ion battery monomer (about 200 watt hours/kg), reaching the target of 300 watt hours/kg of energy density of the vehicle power battery in 2020 proposed in the Implementation Plan for Industrialization of Key Technologies of Intelligent Vehicles.
