Xinhua News Agency, Yaounde, May 23 (Reporter Wang Ze) N'Djamena news: Mohammed Deby was sworn in as President of the Republic of Chad in N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, on May 23. Leaders and dignitaries from many countries were invited to attend the swearing in ceremony.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mohammed Deby said that he would be committed to reform, develop a solid economy, modernize the health system, and promote the development of the country's culture and tourism.

Mohammed Deby's term of office is five years and he can be re elected once.

Chad's presidential election was held on 6 May. Chad's Constitutional Council announced the results of the presidential election on the 16th, and Mohammed Deby won the presidential election with 61% of the votes.
