On March 7, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the launch of the "Spring Miao Action" at this year's press conference of the two sessions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies and consulates abroad have taken active action to assist our compatriots abroad in vaccinating. At present, more than 1.18 million overseas Chinese citizens have been vaccinated with the new vaccine in more than 150 countries. The "Spring Miao Action" was widely praised by compatriots at home and abroad. Everyone said that "Spring Miao Action warms people's hearts", and "we feel the warmth from our motherland thousands of miles away".

"In the next stage, we will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant countries, provide assistance for more overseas Chinese citizens to vaccinate locally, and effectively maintain the health and safety of overseas Chinese citizens, on the premise of abiding by the laws and regulations of the host country and respecting the individual wishes of citizens." Wang Wenbin said.

At the same time, he said, the Chinese government attaches great importance to safeguarding and guaranteeing the life safety and health of foreigners in China. In order to ensure that foreigners work, live and study in China, and build effective immune barriers to the maximum extent, China will include the school-age population of foreigners in China into the coverage of domestic vaccines. Various places in China have taken various measures according to local conditions to facilitate the vaccination of foreigners by creating a convenient online booking channel, publishing a small multilingual booking application procedure, selecting international hospital outpatient clinics as foreign-related vaccination sites, and providing foreign language volunteers, which has been well received by all parties. So far, more than 200000 foreigners in China have been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine.
