The skiing team of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee has arranged ten such online trainings during the epidemic.

Shan Zhaojian, more than 80 years old, is the first national skiing champion in New China. He has grown from an athlete to a coach and snow sports manager. He once served as the Secretary General of the China Skiing Association and the leader of the Chinese ski team. After retirement, he has been engaged in the promotion of skiing culture. At the beginning of the establishment of the ski team of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, Shan Zhaojian was invited to be a consultant to provide advice for the construction and training of the ski team, and guide the training and theoretical teaching of the team members.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the lecture was changed to online. In the afternoon of the same day, he came to the home of Wang Zhong, the head coach of the skiing team of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and shared his experience on Chinese skiing culture with the team members through online video.

During more than two hours of teaching, Shan Zhaojian, through playing carefully prepared documentaries, selected pictures and other materials of Chinese skiing, combined with his own experience in skiing and the research and promotion of Chinese skiing culture, focused on the long history of skiing in Altay, Xinjiang, China and other contents, and made wonderful sharing.

"The ski team is a volunteer team prepared for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. They come from all walks of life. Their enthusiasm and dedication to skiing and the Beijing Winter Olympics have deeply moved me, a veteran of the ski team!" Shan Zhaojian said in an interview. For this course, he made careful preparations, "I want to thoroughly explain the Chinese skiing culture and history to the team members. The ski team should become a fresh force in hosting the competition, and more importantly, it should become a drum and bugle team for the spread of Chinese ice and snow culture, and play an important role in the development of Chinese ice and snow sports in the future."

It is reported that since the outbreak of the epidemic, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee has not relaxed the training of professionals, and the online teaching of the ski team is one of them. Since the beginning of the class, the team members have learned about the Winter Olympics through the Internet, carried out home physical training, studied the competition rules of snow sports, and improved their volunteer service skills and foreign language skills. The ski team is a volunteer team recruited by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee to cultivate urgently needed snow sports professionals. More than 300 members from all walks of life, the oldest 64 years old and the youngest 18 years old, are all "enthusiasts" who volunteer to contribute to the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
