The story behind the ice and snow sports "Ice maker"

This program "Ice maker" tells the story of ice maker Zhao Shizeng. Have you ever heard of "Ice from Water"? Curling icemakers have such skills. What's the matter? Let's see.

Narrator of this episode: Zhao Shizeng Curling Icemaker

Zhao Shizeng: I take good care of this curling field just like my own children. I'm a curling ice maker. My name is Zhao Shizeng.

I usually arrive before 7:00 every morning, and then I start to get on the car to scrape the site. I started this work at the age of 35, and it has been 15 years since this year. My first teacher, a Canadian, learned ice making skills from him in 2005.

Curling is the sport that requires the highest level of ice among all ice sports. The flatness of the ice surface should be 0.038mm (error range), which is equivalent to one fifth of a hair. After the site is scraped, the impurities and frost on the ice rink should be cleaned, mainly to remove the previous freezing point. After cleaning up, re dot.

After the freezing point, the athletes are more relaxed in gliding and more fluent in curling.

After each ice repair, I will try it to see how the ice surface is. In fact, there are a lot of small details in ice making. Any snow or ice residue will affect training or competition. I'm quite satisfied with the ice today.

I like sports since I was young. It's not easy to enter a sports event that suits me. From my heart, I want to make a good curling ground. Now, there are about ten curling halls in China, and many of them don't have professional ice makers to deal with the ice. The 2022 Winter Olympic Games will be held in China. There will definitely be more and more curling venues and more and more curling icemakers. I will teach more people in the future. In fact, I am proud of myself.
