Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, February 18 (Reporter Tong Fang) In order to support front-line medical workers, Sichuan Sanxingdui Museum announced on the 18th that it will open free of charge to medical workers across the country from the date of reopening to December 31, 2020.

Sanxingdui Museum was officially opened to the public in 1997. There are two permanent exhibition halls, namely, the Bronze Museum and the Comprehensive Museum. Since its opening, it has received tens of millions of tourists from all over the country and the world.

On January 23, the Sanxingdui Museum Complex completed its transformation and upgrading for more than three months, without meeting the audience. According to the needs of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, the Sanxingdui Museum has been closed since January 24.

The new comprehensive hall covers an area of 4000 square meters, displaying 394 cultural relics such as pottery, jade, gold and bronze, including five national treasure level cultural relics unearthed from Sanxingdui Site, namely, bronze Dali Man, gold mask, gold stick, bronze divine tree and Shang Dynasty jade zhang. The new comprehensive hall also makes full use of multimedia technology to comprehensively and systematically introduce the history of ancient Shu and the brilliant achievements of Sanxingdui in various fields, highlighting the important value and role of Sanxingdui in the origin and formation of Chinese civilization.

Although the time to resume the opening of the museum has not yet been determined, the Sanxingdui Museum has issued an invitation to medical workers all over the country: the victory of the "epidemic" is waiting for you, and the legend of Sanxingdui for thousands of years awaits you!
