According to the Xinhua News Agency (reporter Hu Jiali, Zheng Zhi), the China Disabled Persons' Federation recently held a 100 day countdown to the Paris Paralympic Games in Beijing to prepare for the sprint, deploy and promote the preparations for the Paris Paralympic Games in the sprint phase. It is reported that the Chinese team has won the qualification for 19 major events in the Paris Paralympic Games.

The 17th Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France, from August 28 to September 8, with a total of 549 events in 22 major sports, including archery, track and field, badminton, and blind football, 10 more than the Tokyo Paralympic Games. At that time, 4400 athletes from more than 160 countries and regions are expected to participate. At present, the Chinese team has been qualified in 19 major events, including track and field and swimming.

Lin Suiling, captain of the China Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team, and Feng Jie, coach of the Disabled Swimming Team, spoke on behalf of the athletes and coaches respectively.

The Chinese women's wheelchair basketball team lost to the Netherlands in the Tokyo Paralympic Games and won the runner up, making its first appearance on the podium of the Paralympic Games. Lin Suiling said that the team invited the Netherlands team, the United States team and the British team to Beijing in late May for competition and exchange, hoping to find the gap through the competition and make persistent efforts in the last 100 days of preparation.

The disabled swimming team plans to go to the plateau of Kunming for intensive training recently to strengthen special training in a hypoxic environment. Feng Jie said, "The swimming team is preparing as planned. The overall condition of the athletes is very good and their morale is high. The goal of the Paralympic Games is to do our best to achieve good results."

At present, there are 19 athletes in the disabled weightlifting program. According to coach Zhang Haidong, 18 members of the team rank among the top three in the world at all levels. The Paris Paralympic Games stipulates that each weightlifting team can have at most 8 male and 8 female athletes participating in the event, so the team will have to be selected later. "We won seven gold medals at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, and we will try to go further this year," said Zhang Haidong.
