In the 1980s, when I was studying in Leshan, Sichuan, my teacher led us to visit the Sansu Temple. Many impressions are blurred, but I clearly remember the three statues sitting in the Hall of Feast in Sansu Temple. Their torching eyes, like a flash of lightning, pierce my heart.

In 1997, Leshan divided six counties adjacent to Chengdu and established Meishan District. I packed my bags, left my family and joined the team of building Meishan without hesitation.

The day when I came to Meishan to report for duty was the golden autumn school season. I walked into the office and bedroom on the third floor of the unit, pushed open the window, and the sound of reading was heard in my ears. When I looked closely, I saw a group of students standing in line in front of the Pantuo statue of Dongpo, reading Su Dongpo's poems in unison.

This building is located in the north of the Sansu Temple, just a wall away from the Sansu Temple - I was a neighbor with Su Dongpo.

Go out from the office building, go west, turn a corner, and you will arrive at the west end of Sakura. The 800 meter long street is close to the west and south of Sansu Temple. At that time, I often went to the regional administrative office to send signing documents, and frequently went through the grain business.

When the name Shahuhang came into being has not been verified. But in Su Dongpo's time, it was already called this name. Madame Cheng, Su Dongpo's mother, had been doing silk business here in those years, which started the Su family's prosperity.

This is a cultural street with a long history and profound connotation. From this street, the father and son of the "Three Sus", who are famous in the history of Chinese culture and ranked among the eight famous families in the Tang and Song dynasties, came out. From this beginning, during the Song Dynasty, there were 886 Jinshi in Meishan, a small prefecture of Xishu, accounting for about 3% of the national total. Only in the second year of Jiayou, when Su Shi and Su Zhe passed the examinations of Jinshi, there were 13 Jinshi in Meishan. Even the Emperor Renzong of Song couldn't help admiring that all those who are eager to learn come from Meishan.

I walked into the Shahuhang, and the old and simple smell came to my face. Meishan was not a big city at that time. Nine streets and eighteen alleys were all its possessions. The park and green space were naturally extravagant. Therefore, Shahuxing became the main choice for people to eat after dinner and take a leisure walk. Children play games and hide and seek in Sansu Temple, while adults drink tea and chat in Haitang Garden. Shahuhang is like a commercial street. The shops on both sides are placed with disorderly goods. The hawker's hawking voice and the shop's horn sound make this not spacious street even more crowded. Sometimes a carriage flashes, giving people a feeling of crossing.

But the noise can not hide its profound cultural temperament. Passing through the south gate of the Sansu Temple, I could see the three characters "Sansu Temple" written in He Shaoji's handwriting. Looking at Su Dongpo's "home" through the heavy wooden door, you can vaguely see the three statues sitting in the Hall of Feast. One day, when I passed under a long stone tablet, I was startled - the words engraved on the tablet were like countless pairs of eyes embedded in it, staring at passers-by. It turns out that this is a kind of carving called "Yin Carving", and Su Dongpo's "Red Cliff Fu" is delivering a historical echo.

In 2000, Meishan was abolished as a city. That same year, I moved into a new office building in the new urban area and a new house not far from the office building. The office and living conditions have improved, but the distance from the Sansu Temple has suddenly expanded to five kilometers. There is a vague sense of regret in my heart.

Fortunately, with the growth of the city, Su Dongpo's "home" is also expanding.

I live in Xuguang Community and cross Dongpo Lake outside the south gate of the community to Dongpo Island. It is an island surrounded by water on all sides. The urban wetland park built on the island has a total of 3800 mu. The park not only borrowed the name of "Dongpo", but also moved the study and hall of Dongpo to here. "Self-cultivation hall", "Yuedu Square", "three su" famous words engraved on pavilions and pavilions... I am still Su Dongpo's "neighbor" on Dongpo Island.

Meishan people have strong and sincere feelings for Su Dongpo. In 2012, the promotion project of Shahuhang Historic and Cultural Street was launched, and the pipeline network, rainwater and sewage diversion and landscape renovation were carried out. The most important thing is to change the mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic into pedestrian street, and restore memorial archways at both ends of the street, which can be seen from a distance; Take back the rental store and add the Dongpo Academy for the public... In 2013, the Sansu Temple was repaired as a whole. Since then, Su Dongpo's "home" inside and "home" outside looks more comfortable.

The neighbors in space also urged me to go deeper into Su Dongpo from books. In those years, I read the Biography of Su Dongpo, the New Biography of Su Dongpo, and the Commentary on Su Shi. The more you read the book, the slower you read it, and the thicker you read it. The question marks drawn on the book gradually get answers from historical books, chronicles and other materials. As I read and wrote, I wrote more than 20 articles about Meishan and published them in newspapers. Recently, I am working with several writers in Meishan to do something meaningful and try to facilitate the compilation of Meishan Su's Genealogy. I gradually feel that I have become a real neighbor with Su Dongpo.

The soul of a city lies in its inward growing culture. It is like a beam of light, illuminating itself and others. I believe that because of Su Dongpo, Meishan will give people more experience and insights. I hope you can live next to Dongpo wherever you are.
