Putian Power Supply Company of State Grid adds impetus to Meizhou Island's better life

On April 7, Wang Hanbin, the technical director of the Marketing Department of State Grid Meizhou Island Power Supply Company, went to Putian Meizhou Island Bus Passenger Transport Company to check the operation of photovoltaic power generation equipment on the roof of the enterprise parking shed, and put forward rectification guidance for the hidden problems found. At present, all 376 buses and sightseeing buses on Meizhou Island have been electrified. Putian Power Supply Company of State Grid has built a "three kilometer charging circle" for island new energy vehicles on the island to meet the charging needs of new energy vehicle owners.

In recent years, Meizhou Island has taken the initiative to implement carbon reduction action, taking the lead in completing the "double carbon" plan of the first national 5A tourist attraction in China. State Grid Putian Power Supply Company has worked closely with the Meizhou Island Management Committee to continue to promote the construction of a new power system in Meizhou Island, accelerate the construction of smart zero carbon projects, build a "low-carbon ecological island", and help the construction of "USUNHOME Island" and "beautiful bay". By the end of 2023, the proportion of green energy consumption in the island will reach 51.92%, reducing 16730 tons of carbon emissions, and opening up a low-carbon life in Meizhou Island.

"Scenery storage and charging" micro grid enables ecological water control

On March 20, over the water quality treatment tank of Meizhou Island Sewage Treatment Plant of Putian Water Purification Co., Ltd., constructors were installing photovoltaic panel modules to prepare for the operation of the new photovoltaic project of the plant. After the project is put into operation, it will further improve the "wind and solar storage and charging" micro grid, and increase the proportion of green power application in the company's reclaimed water treatment plant.

"The project under construction is to increase the photovoltaic capacity of 400 kilowatts on the basis of the existing 'wind and solar energy storage and charging' micro grid project. The new project can not only effectively absorb sunlight into electricity, provide clean energy for sewage treatment, but also help water quality treatment and further improve the efficiency of sewage treatment." Du Yong, the person in charge of power utilization for the construction of Meizhou Island Sewage Treatment Plant, said that after the project is put into use, it is estimated that about 200000 yuan of electricity will be saved every year.

In order to cope with the continuous growth of sewage treatment load on the island and the limitations of traditional power supply and consumption mode, Putian Power Supply Company of the State Grid and Meizhou Island Management Committee have worked together to build a "wind and solar storage and charging" micro grid project. The micro grid project includes 237.6kw photovoltaic, 32kw landscape fan and 54kwh energy storage device. Through the energy complementation of photovoltaic and landscape fan, it can deliver green, reliable and environmentally friendly clean energy to the plant. At the same time, the flexible adjustment of the energy storage device ensures the stable and continuous energy supply of the plant.

Since the micro grid project was put into operation in April 2021, the energy consumption expenditure for sewage treatment has decreased by more than 30% compared with the previous period, and can enable sewage treatment for more than 20 consecutive years. Last year, the plant used more than 60000 kilowatt hours of wind and green energy to treat sewage, so that wind and light power generation and sewage recycling complement each other, and jointly build a green low-carbon energy system.

"We provide the Meizhou Island Management Committee with a 'one-stop' project plan. From the beginning of the project planning, we have taken the initiative to connect in advance, assist in the design, construction and operation of distribution facilities, and provide full process service for the implementation of micro grid projects." Wang Hanbin said that next, the State Grid Meizhou Island Power Supply Company will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Meizhou Island Management Committee, explore and practice more green Environmentally friendly energy utilization mode, constantly improve the micro grid, and inject new impetus into the sustainable development of Meizhou Island.

"Double carbon" platform improves ecological carbon sink capacity

On March 26, in the "double carbon" exhibition hall of mangrove park, employees of State Grid Meizhou Island Power Supply Company opened the "double carbon" platform of Meizhou Island, and the carbon emissions of all industries and units in the island were clearly displayed on the display terminal of the platform.

"Through this platform, we can see that the island's carbon emissions have shown a downward trend in the past two years, which also shows that the platform has played a significant role in urging the island's enterprises and institutions to carry out low-carbon and energy-saving transformation." Cai Zhe, deputy general manager of State Grid Meizhou Island Power Supply Company, introduced that the platform precisely deconstructs the "gene sequence" of carbon emissions with the energy consumption index of electricity, gas, oil and coal as the core Visualize the energy consumption structure, carbon emission trajectory and change trend of different industries. In the street lamp reconstruction project, the platform provides powerful data support and decision-making basis for the reconstruction work through real-time monitoring and analysis of the island's carbon emissions.

At present, the ongoing street lamp renovation project on Meizhou Island is a microcosm of the low-carbon development practice of the "dual carbon" platform. It is reported that Putian Power Supply Company of the State Grid used the platform to find that the carbon emission data of Putian Street Lamp Management Office ranked the top of the carbon emission list of key enterprises in the island. Therefore, the company proposed rectification suggestions to Meizhou Island Management Committee and Putian Street Lamp Management Office. Since 2022, more than half of the street lights on the island have been upgraded to smart street lights. After transformation, the smart street lamp will be more than 50% brighter. More importantly, after secondary energy-saving operations such as dimming and turning off lights regularly, the electricity cost can be saved up to 50%, and the effect of low-carbon, environmental protection, energy saving and consumption reduction is obvious. According to statistics, it is estimated that 2000 smart street lamps will save electricity annually, equivalent to reducing 1187 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 36 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions.

In the future, the State Grid Putian Power Supply Company will also cooperate with the Meizhou Island Management Committee to introduce the "carbon footprint" management incentive measures for tourists, so that tourists can also become a part of the "dual carbon" platform of Meizhou Island and contribute to the construction of ecological low-carbon islands.

New power system promotes the consumption and utilization of new energy

On April 7, employees of Putian Power Supply Company of the State Grid checked the operation of the power grids in five sub regions of Meizhou Island through the multi terminal interconnected low-voltage flexible micro grid system to ensure safe, reliable and stable power supply and clean energy consumption on the island during peak power consumption.

Meizhou Island has a typical subtropical marine monsoon climate, and is rich in wind, solar, ocean energy and other renewable energy. Up to now, 23 photovoltaic power generation projects including mangrove "near zero carbon" emission buildings have been built in the island, with a cumulative installed capacity of about 1300 kilowatts. With the wind power from Zhongmen Town, 50% of the electricity consumption on the island is from clean energy.

However, with the large-scale access of wind power and photovoltaic power generation to the power grid, how to effectively deal with the intermittent, random and volatile challenges of these energy sources has become a key issue to ensure the stable operation of the power system. To this end, Putian Power Supply Company of the State Grid actively carried out the demonstration construction of island level new power system in Meizhou Island.

Among them, the multi terminal interconnected low-voltage flexible micro grid project is an important part of the demonstration construction. The project innovatively transformed five AC powered transformers into a low-voltage flexible DC system with AC/DC hybrid power supply, and upgraded the single transformer power supply mode to a micro grid cluster power supply with five transformers. The micro grid is directly connected to the "Rainbow" PV of the ferry terminal at the DC side; The DC power generated by photovoltaic can be supplied to the nearby DC charging pile and other loads; The AC power of each transformer can be converted into AC and DC, and the load can be automatically adjusted through the "DC tunnel".

Since the project was put into operation in July 2022, the problem of transformer overload during the peak load periods such as the Spring Festival and summer has been avoided, and the overload problem that would have reached 105% has been reduced to about 70%, ensuring the safety of transformer operation. The DC grid connection and DC absorption technologies innovatively applied in the project have reduced the primary AC/DC conversion loss, and the overall transmission loss of new energy has decreased to 56% of the original. Through the implementation of the project, Meizhou Island has achieved the maximum use of clean energy while ensuring the stability of power supply, laying a solid foundation for building a green and low-carbon energy system.

With the joint efforts of relevant government departments of Putian City and Putian Power Supply Company of State Grid, Meizhou Island has won the titles of "Beautiful Bay" in Fujian Province and "USUNHOME Island" at the national level in 2023. Meizhou Island's green development case was included in the national collection of high-quality rural energy development achievements. The case of "Zero Carbon" comprehensive demonstration to build a county island comprehensive energy model was selected into the "Comprehensive Smart Energy Excellent Project Case Set (2023)", which is one of the three selected cases of the State Grid system and the only case in Fujian Province.

This year, Putian Power Supply Company of the State Grid will continue to accelerate the construction of a new power system, transform the distribution network of Meizhou Island, focus on promoting the intelligence of 10 kV line fault self isolation, carry out the construction of five digital full sense projects in five stations, including Gongxia No. 1, create a digital twin grid demonstration, predict the distribution of new energy and load under different scenarios, and direct the grid to adjust its operation mode in advance, Better serve to achieve the goal of "double carbon" and help Meizhou Island to reduce carbon.
