The Beijing Winter Paralympic Games are in a tense and intense competition. Paralympic athletes use their indomitable spirit to infect everyone. In addition to the efforts of athletes and coaches, thousands of volunteers are also silently contributing to the success of the Paralympic Games.

The success of large-scale sports events cannot be separated from the contributions of a large number of volunteers. The Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games have a total of 9000 volunteers, including 19 disabled volunteers. Among them, 12 disabled volunteers stick to their posts, from Winter Olympics service to Winter Paralympic Games.

These 12 disabled volunteers come from all walks of life, including college students, retired athletes, doctors, teachers, community workers and freelancers. Among them, some are the backbone of the school's volunteer service team, some have served the Beijing Marathon for 10 consecutive years, and some have continued to provide medical emergency support services for various large-scale events. After training and selection, these special volunteers, with their rich volunteer service experience and professional skills, stand together with other volunteers in the venues and service areas of the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. Leave considerate service to the stadium, and gather the power of "Little Snowflake".

"Although we may have some defects, we also want to do the same things as ordinary people in life," volunteer Wang Zibo said in an interview. The disabled can also play a role. They overcome their difficulties and transform their "pain" into "love" for the world. Ji Luyu, as the only disabled volunteer in Zhangjiakou competition area, although physically disabled, she is determined to make contributions to her hometown. Faced with the question of why she wanted to participate in volunteer services, she said directly: "Just want to contribute their youth strength to their hometown!" The disabled volunteers showed that they are no different from other volunteers. They have the same "strength" and can also make contributions to the society. Their bright smiles are full of confidence and love, and show their own light.

In addition to their own efforts, the disabled volunteers' ability to serve the Winter Paralympic Games is closely related to the "barrier free" of the venues. In accordance with the requirements of the accessibility guidelines, the National Stadium has transitioned from the Winter Olympic venues to the Winter Paralympic venues, renovated and upgraded barrier free toilets, toilets and elevators, and added barrier free seats. These facilities not only ensure that athletes can successfully complete the competition, but also allow disabled volunteers to better serve. But this is just the beginning. "Accessibility" is not only in the venues, but also in every corner of the city in the future.

Disabled volunteers are another scenic spot outside the stadium. They are special business cards, bringing convenient, appropriate, warm and professional services to the audience and athletes. Once they were helped by the society, now they repay the society. At present, 12 disabled volunteers are still a minority among the 9000 volunteers. In the future, more and more disabled people will participate in voluntary services to jointly build an inclusive and beautiful society.
