The campus news network of Beijing Jiaotong University (hereinafter referred to as the campus news network) is an important window for all sectors of society and all teachers, students and alumni to understand the new progress, new trends and new achievements of the school. In order to further standardize the order of school news reports, enhance the authority, accuracy and timeliness of news reports, and better serve the development of the school, we hereby notify the campus news network of matters related to the submission of news articles as follows:

1、 Basic functions

Article 1 The campus news network is a key platform for publicizing the important achievements, important experiences and outstanding typical deeds of the school, as well as showing the important work achievements of each unit and the spirit of teachers and students. The Publicity Department of the Party Committee is responsible for construction management.

Article 2 The information released by the campus news network must comply with the Interim Provisions of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of Computer Information Networks and the Internet and the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Security Protection of Computer Information Systems, so as to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the campus news publicity.

Article 3 The campus news network sets up rolling news on the school's homepage (www.bjtu. edu. cn), and on the news website's homepage (news. bjtu. edu. cn), the campus news (teaching and research, cooperation and exchange, gathering styles from the department, Jingjing campus, alumni news), academic culture (lectures, academic conferences, Siyuan books), and figures of Jiaotong University (teachers, students, alumni) , Light and Film Jiaotong University (pictures, videos), history gallery and other columns, striving to achieve three-dimensional publicity effect.

2、 News review and release

Article 4 The host unit of the activity on campus shall be responsible for the preparation and preliminary review of the news release. The review of news releases shall be subject to the responsibility system of competent business, that is, "who is in charge, who is responsible". The main person in charge of each unit is the first person responsible for the news release of the unit, who is responsible for the overall control of news releases. The author is the second person responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of the news release.

Article 5 The news release shall be subject to the hierarchical review system: the general column news shall be reviewed by the main person in charge of the source unit; The important school level news to be published on the homepage shall be reviewed by the main person in charge of the source unit and the leader in charge of the school; News related to the main school leaders of the school shall be reviewed by the main person in charge of the source unit, the school office and the leader in charge of the school. News Network shall coordinate with manuscript editing, proofreading, uploading and publishing. Press releases that have not been reviewed by the leader of the source unit will not be released.

Article 6 In order to further highlight the characteristics of the school, establish the image of the school and highlight the publicity effect, the news to be rolled out on the homepage should reflect the school running indicators and social influence in a certain field, highlight the comprehensive strength and school running level of the school, such as large-scale activities and conferences at the school level; Domestic and foreign academic forums with wide social influence hosted or undertaken by the school; The school has made important achievements in teaching and scientific research, talent cultivation, social services, foreign exchanges and cultural construction; The school departments or teachers and students' employees have won provincial and ministerial level or above honors, as well as major scientific research breakthroughs or academic achievements; The mainstream news media of the society focuses on the major reports of a certain field or individual of the school; All secondary units have innovative work that can lead and demonstrate. Regular routine work or activities at the school level or department level, and news about routine inspection and exchange of department work by relevant departments, business guidance units and related units (except for overseas high-level exchanges, important leaders visiting the school or signing important cooperation matters) are not included in the rolling scope in principle.

Article 7 In order to ensure the timeliness of press releases, press releases should be submitted within 2 days of the news and within 24 hours of important news. News releases over 3 days will not be published in a rolling manner, and those over one week will not be published. The submission time should be before 17:00 every day, and the submission on national legal holidays should be notified to the News Network in advance to arrange on duty uploading.

3、 Basic requirements for manuscripts

Article 8 The content of the news release should be objective and true, covering the basic elements of the news event in a comprehensive way, including: time, place, people, events, causes, and, if necessary, the background and specific results of the event. The language is accurate. Avoid ambiguity, fuzziness and exaggeration, and avoid subjective judgment and evaluation of the news event. The information, historical facts, quotations and figures quoted in the news, the names of the persons involved and their positions and titles, as well as the names of relevant units and departments, should be accurate.

Article 9 The word number of news messages shall generally be less than 800 words, and the word number of important contributions shall generally be less than 2000 words, except for character newsletters, comprehensive reports, special reports or theoretical articles; The news title should be concise and to the point, with no more than 30 words at most. It should objectively reflect the theme of the news and accurately convey the theme of the news. The time of news occurrence shall be completely written, for example, the time period can be expressed as from MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY. The news lead highlights the highlights, delivering and displaying the most valuable news content to readers.

Article 10 The third person shall be used as far as possible. When the title of person appears for the first time, the full title is written, generally in the form of "title+name". Only write "name" when it reappears. When two job titles need to be used in a specific context, the method of "main job title+concurrent job title+name" can be used as appropriate, and more than two job titles can be inferred in this way. If the name or title of the school is involved in the news, the full name of Beijing Jiaotong University can be used, or it can be simplified to our school or Beijing Jiaotong University as appropriate, but the name of "Beijing Jiaotong University" is not recommended. The words "our school" should be avoided in the work report of each unit, but the words "our school" can be used. At the end of the article, when introducing the units present on campus, the abbreviation of the unit is generally used.

Article 11 The content of the news speech shall be refined according to the final draft of the on-site speech, which shall be summarized accurately and focused. In speaking, leaders at all levels should generally avoid using words such as "important speech" and "instruction", and mainly use neutral words such as "pointing out, expressing, emphasizing, and speaking".

Article 12 News pictures must closely follow the news theme, highlight the process of the main characters and news events, and ensure that the pictures are clear, the brightness is moderate, the image of the main characters is good, and the news elements are complete. Word typesetting is required before the manuscript is uploaded or sent. The pictures should be uniformly treated as 600 wide edges (vertical photos should be treated as 600 high), and inserted above the corresponding text paragraphs, If the photo is not taken by the Propaganda Department, the original picture can be sent to the news website in the form of an attachment (jpg format, the widest edge of the original picture is not less than 1800 pixels, the picture proportion is recommended to be 4:3, and it is recommended not to cut or post process the picture). If necessary, please attach a picture description.

4、 Scope and method of contribution

Article 13 Ways of contribution:

1. Online submission system of News Network: click the online submission link of News Network (news. bjtu. edu. cn) to enter the online submission mode and directly publish images and texts. This authority is only used by correspondents of each unit and other management personnel designated by each unit.

2. Email submission: send articles to the submission mailbox of News.com bjtunews@bjtu.edu.cn , and confirmed by calling 51684611. The format of the email name shall be filled in uniformly: the subject of the manuscript. Please indicate the author's unit, name, contact information, and the name and contact information of the reviewer in the email for verification by the News Network. The emails not marked as approved by the leader will be returned to the relevant units.

Article 14 Contribution and reward:

In addition to news articles, contributions can also be comprehensive reports, character reports, theoretical articles, news reviews, school history stories, poetry and prose, landscape pictures, theme pictures, audio and video, animation, etc. The news center for such contributions will choose the media such as news networks, school newspapers, official microblogs, official WeChat, television stations, radio stations, etc. as appropriate. In order to encourage all units and individuals to submit the above original articles, News.com will give corresponding rewards to the authors according to the adoption of articles. At the same time, the number and quality of contributions of each unit to the news network will be one of the important indicators for the selection and commendation of advanced units and outstanding individuals in propaganda and ideological work.

Article 15 Miscellaneous

News Network reserves the right to edit and modify the contributions and decide whether to adopt and upload them to the home page of the campus network. If there are important modifications or major and sensitive issues involved, we will communicate with the contributors. If the incoming manuscript is really not suitable for distribution on the news website, it will be notified to the contributor or author by phone or email.
