The 9th International Advisory Committee Meeting and Dean's Forum of School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University was successfully held

On April 13, 2024, the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University held the 9th International Advisory Committee (IAC) Conference and Dean's Forum. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars and the Dean of the School of Economics and Management gathered at Jiaotong University to discuss the "internationalization strategy and development of the School of Economics and Management in the new era". Guan Zhongliang, Vice President, attended the meeting. All leading groups of the School of Economics and Management attended the meeting.

At the IAC meeting in the morning, Guan Zhongliang introduced the development status, discipline characteristics, internationalization process and achievements of the school, and extended a warm welcome to all members and experts attending the meeting on behalf of the school. He said that it is very important to strengthen exchanges between world-class business schools. The experts at the meeting have outstanding achievements and experience in their respective fields. He hoped that the experts could speak freely and put forward valuable suggestions for the development of the school.

Eric Cornuel, President of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) congratulated the college on obtaining the five-year maximum recertification of EQUIS. He believes that the IAC Conference and Dean's Forum is an important platform for building a cooperation network between Chinese and European universities and conducting global business school dialogue. He hopes that the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University will continue to contribute to the development of global business schools.

Shi Xianliang, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, made a report on the college from the aspects of history, disciplines and majors, student training and employment, scientific research, school enterprise cooperation, teaching staff, international cooperation and talent policy.

During the discussion, the members and experts spoke highly of the achievements of the school and the college, and discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by the school from the aspects of ESG, digital transformation, interdisciplinary research, internationalization strategy, the Belt and Road Initiative and teaching reform around the "internationalization strategy and development of the School of Economics and Management in the new era".

In the Dean's Forum in the afternoon, Li Tong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management, and Shi Xianliang, Secretary of the School of Economics and Management, respectively delivered a welcome speech and made a report on the situation of the School. The deans of nearly 20 colleges of economics and management launched heated discussions and in-depth exchanges around international exchanges, international certification, business education in the AI era, and the development of industry featured colleges of economics and management.
