On August 11, 2023, the final of the 18th China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition opened in Dongguan, Guangdong. A total of 6289 teams from more than 330 universities and scientific research institutes participated in the competition. After the evaluation and selection of the preliminary and second round of the eight national competition areas, 520 teams emerged from their respective competition areas and were promoted to the national finals. Professors Ai Bo, Wang Yi and Liu Yingqi of our school attended this year's national finals and served as judges. Professor He Ruisi served as our school's team leader and led the team in the competition.
A total of 50 teams from our school signed up for the technical competition unit, 14 teams signed up for the business plan unit, five teams were shortlisted for the national finals of the technical competition, and one team was shortlisted for the national finals of the business plan. After nearly a month of fierce competition, we have achieved excellent results: three first prizes in the national finals of the technical competition (one team won the national finals of Huawei's 6G special event, and was shortlisted in the national top 10 Research Star Tour), and two second prizes; One team won the third prize in the national final of business plan. Yang Mi, Liang Kun and Liu Yan, three teachers of the Institute of Telecommunications, won the National Finals Excellent Instructors; Our school won the National Finals Excellent Organization Award.
The China Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest is a national event jointly sponsored by the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology and the China Electronics Society under the guidance of the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education. The competition is one of the key projects supported by the University's postgraduate innovation practice competition, which is in the charge of the Research and Engineering Department. The School of Telecommunications undertakes the technical competition organization, and the School of Economics and Management undertakes the business plan organization. Since the launch of the event in March 2023, the school has actively mobilized, deployed and prepared for the event for many times, hosted many pre match coaching activities, and invited teachers with rich experience in guiding discipline competitions, such as He Ruisi, Wang Yi, Zhu Li, Ma Qinglong, Chen Xin, Yang Mi, Liu Yan, Xu Huating, to form a guiding group to help the participating teams accurately grasp the direction of the competition and improve the quality of their works, To escort the excellent results of the research contest.
