In early October, the Japanese Land Self Defense Force and the US Marine Corps held a joint military exercise of "Dragon of Perseverance - 2022".

Recently, Japan, together with the United States and its allies, held several exercises and trainings in the Asia Pacific region, and stepped up defense cooperation with Australia, India and NATO countries. According to foreign media, the Japanese government of Kishida is eager to catch up with the "chariot" of the United States and continue to act as the "pawn" of the United States to maintain world hegemony. Its arms expansion will affect the regional security situation.

Keep pace with the United States

According to foreign media reports, Japanese Prime Minister Takeo Kishida stepped up strategic docking with the United States after taking office. In May this year, when he met with US President Biden, Takeo Kishida said that Japan was willing to listen to the US proposal on Japan's new National Security Strategy. When the Japanese Defense Minister, the Chief of Staff of the United Nations and the Chief of Staff of the Land, Sea and Air Self Defense Forces took office, they immediately made contact with the senior level of the US military. Japanese Defense Minister Yasuhiro Hamada said that many suggestions of the US military will be reflected in the construction of Japan's defense policy.

Under the background of active interaction between the officials of the Japanese Self Defense Forces and the US military, the cooperation between the Japanese Self Defense Forces and the US military is also very hot.

In the recent "Dragon of Perseverance - 2022" military exercise and the "Oriental Shield - 2022" military exercise held not long ago, the Japanese Land Self Defense Force dispatched 12 shore to ship missile companies to conduct joint strike and other training courses with the US Marine Corps "Hippocampus" mobile rocket. The two forces implemented target location information sharing, continuous strike and other contents.

The Japan Sea and Air Self Defense Forces frequently carry out joint training with the US military. Japan sent Aegis warships to join the US aircraft carrier strike brigade to participate in the US military's maritime deployment mission, and organized F-15 fighter planes and F-35A fighter planes to escort US strategic bombers. Foreign media said that under the framework of common interests in the Asia Pacific region, the US and Japanese militaries accelerated the pace of "quasi integration" construction.

In addition to strengthening cooperation in policy and training, the Japanese Self Defense Force is also seeking to integrate into the US military combat system in the field of equipment. Since this year, Japan has introduced the first RQ-4 "Global Hawk" UAV from the United States to Sanzawa Base, and nine V-22 "Osprey" transport planes have conducted test flight training in Yokota Base. Recently, Japan's Maritime Security Agency conducted flight tests with MQ-9 "Death" UAV, and will deploy at least 8 in Luwu base in the future. At that time, US made UAVs will become the main force for Japan to implement marine situation monitoring.

Japan also decided to expand the number of F-35A fighters, and invited the US "Hippocampus" mobile rocket to temporarily deploy to Kyushu, Japan, to strengthen the frontier defense capability.

Strengthening foreign cooperation

According to the report, as an important ally of the United States in the Asia Pacific region, Japan caters to the plans of NATO, India, Australia and other countries to expand their regional influence, constantly setting up "small circles" and close cooperative relations. The Agreement on Reciprocal Access between Japan, Australia and India has entered the implementation stage, carrying out mutual visits of military personnel, mutual aid of warship materials and other operations. At the recent meeting, the leaders of Japan and Australia held a dialogue on the relevant contents of Japan's National Security Guarantee Strategy, including topics such as "the use of military forces in gray areas" and "developing the ability to attack enemy bases".

Recently, Australian navy ships received the first replenishment from Japanese supply ships while carrying out their mission. The Japanese destroyer "Xili" docked at the Indian port for the first time to supply supplies. A motorized infantry regiment of the Japanese Land Self Defense Force used a lot of weapons and equipment provided by India during the joint military exercises between Japan and India. The foreign media said that under the "four sided framework" mechanism, the United States, Japan, Australia and India are "teaming up" to build momentum in the region, in which Japan plays the role of "pawn" of the United States.

In the process of NATO countries "getting involved" in the affairs of the Asia Pacific region, Japan took the initiative to make good to the Western countries and close relations. In September, three German "Typhoon" fighter planes entered the Japanese hundred mile base for the first time and conducted air combat training with three Japanese F-2 fighter planes.

The Ministry of Defense of Japan issued a notice with the United Kingdom "planning to carry out joint research and construction of new generation fighters". Japanese and British warships held the so-called "inspection of maritime law enforcement procedures" drill in the Philippine Sea.

The Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force ships and the French Navy's "Portuguese Moon" frigate stationed in the Western Pacific region conducted joint exercises, and invited French warships to visit Japan.

By participating in the joint supervision of North Korean merchant shipping operations by the United States and the Union, the Japanese and Canadian intelligence agencies have established an information exchange mechanism to open up the intelligence communication channels with the "Five Eye Alliance". More than 10 Western countries including the United States, Canada, Australia and France will send ships to participate in the upcoming Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force ship watching ceremony in November.

Agitate the regional situation

It is believed that Japan's strengthening military ties with the United States under the guise of "cooperation" will bring instability to regional security.

On the one hand, in the name of joint performance and training, Japanese ships and aircraft frequently haunt the Sea of Japan, the Sea of the Philippines and other places, bringing complex extraterritorial factors to the region, and at the same time, they also become regional "trouble makers".

In the Japan ASEAN bilateral forum, which Japan strongly promotes, some ASEAN countries firmly resist Japan's contribution to certain issues and criticize Japan's "covetousness" of maritime interests. The joint military action carried out by the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force, the US Navy and the Coast Guard in the Sea of Okhotsk was regarded by Russia as "an invasion of the Arctic Channel". The foreign media said that Japan claimed to "maintain regional peace", but its actions contributed to the momentum of arms expansion, and it was the "initiator" of the deterioration of the situation.

On the other hand, Japan has stepped up its military cooperation with the United States and its allies, which not only confirms its "outward oriented" military development strategy, but also "attracts wolves into the home", pushing up the armament situation in the Asia Pacific region.

In a series of military operations, Japan basically abandoned the principle of "exclusive defense", and its military tentacles continued to extend to Europe, the South Pacific and other regions. With Japan's increasingly high-profile display of military strength, the risk of regional arms race is likely to escalate. (Stone inscription)
