When selecting the topic of "New Year goes to the grassroots", I first thought of the village market. The market not only has the strong flavor of New Year, but also is a microcosm of the life of the grassroots people. When I returned to my hometown years ago, I heard about Xiao Hai's deeds in the mouth of fellow villagers. Xiao Hai's home is not in our village, but his good reputation of being strong and unyielding has spread all over the eight neighboring villages.

So I went to the fair. When the big fair was busy at the end of the year, Xiaohai's two stalls "poured out their homes" to meet the waves of customers. They were so busy that the merchants around threw envious glances. After our simple greetings, Xiao Hai is busy soliciting guests.

Xiao Hai got sick when he was about 20 years old, and his femoral head was necrotic. Although this poor family did its best, he was still disabled for life because he missed the best opportunity for treatment. Fortunately, it didn't hurt so much that he could walk slowly without crutches. Since then, Xiaohai has considered selling vegetables for a living.

Transportation is a problem. Xiao Hai bought an electric tricycle with the help of villagers, but he could only drive standing because of his own inconvenience. The ordinary people's simple braking is a new limitation for him. At first, his car didn't have a hood. It was windy, sunny and rainy. Xiao Hai just stood and drove. Many times, the traffic police stopped him. But when they learned that he was disabled, they mostly let him go. Xiao Hai was also very careful and strictly abided by the traffic rules. He drove safely for more than ten years. Later, his brother helped him to customize a special hood in Gaotang County, which was far away from his home. This gave a little shelter to the small sea on the road.

From less than six o'clock in the morning to about one o'clock in the afternoon, Xiao Hai stood all the time, unable to sit down due to illness, so he had to rest for a while, 365 days a year. After closing the stall at noon, he simply ate a potluck and hurried to the vegetable distribution center to wholesale the next batch of vegetables. His brother, who worked abroad on holidays, could still get a start when he returned home, It is my old father who can help me on weekdays. In such a hard and busy year, we can earn 30000 to 40000 yuan.

Although his income is relatively small, Xiaohai is very satisfied. He can make a living on his own. No matter how hard he works, it's worth it. He is also never greedy. Generally, a fraction of 35 cents can save customers money. In addition, the quality of dishes is good, and he has won many regular customers. In this way, not only did he not become a burden to the family, but he took off the hat of poverty. In 2018, his parents' subsistence allowance was cancelled. At present, we are vigorously carrying out targeted poverty alleviation. Vulnerable groups such as Xiao Hai are the most qualified for poverty alleviation, but they do not "wait, rely, and want". Instead, they break through their own limitations and change their lives through their own hands. This is the most commendable.

This year is a crucial year for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieving the first centenary goal, and the fight against poverty has entered the final sprint stage. This requires everyone to work hard and down-to-earth. During the short shooting interview, I saw the life picture of a disabled and determined farmer who "rolled up his sleeves and worked hard". Instead of complaining and waiting for opportunities, I put my full enthusiasm and high morale into every day's life. Without abandoning or giving up, the beautiful life must be ahead.
