It was reported at the meeting that the Nanjing COVID-19 Joint Prevention and Control Work Headquarters decided to adjust Lukou Street, Jiangning District, from a medium risk area to a low risk area from August 19, 2021, and the street will continue to implement the 7-day transition period management. So far, Nanjing is a low-risk area.

From 0 to 24 o'clock on August 18, 2021, there were no new confirmed cases of local COVID-19 and asymptomatic infections in Nanjing. So far, there have been no new confirmed cases of local COVID-19 in Nanjing for six consecutive days. As of 24:00 on August 18, 235 locally confirmed cases and 79 discharged cases had been reported in this round of epidemic.

Ding Xiaoping, deputy director of the Nanjing Municipal Health Commission, said at the press conference that after careful treatment by medical staff and expert evaluation, four more patients with confirmed diagnosis reached the discharge standard, and today they will be transferred to designated hospitals for rehabilitation.
