Changchun, as one of the 46 key cities in China that took the lead in implementing domestic waste classification, has started the work of urban domestic waste classification since 2017. The Changchun Municipal Waste Classification Leading Group Office has innovated the working mode, improved the working mechanism, implemented the territorial responsibility, and focused on the cultivation and cultivation system of domestic waste classification and the construction of waste classification operation system, Vigorously promote the construction of the demonstration area, the domestic waste classification work has achieved great results, the domestic waste classification, collection, transportation and disposal system has been basically established, and the garbage does not land, local and nearby disposal and integration of the two networks have been explored, which are in line with the reality of Changchun and have Changchun characteristics of the work model, pushing this "people's livelihood event" to a new height.

Up to now, Changchun has built 80 classified demonstration areas, with the awareness rate of garbage classification of 98%, the participation rate of more than 75%, and the recycling rate of urban domestic garbage of 39%. As a whole, Changchun is at the first level in large cities, basically realizing the full coverage of domestic garbage classification facilities, classified publicity, and long-term management mechanism.

After the day of intensive publicity, Changchun will focus on the theme of "practicing new fashion classification volunteerism", use the week from the 22nd to the 28th to focus on "creating an atmosphere for activities, showing classification results, and mobilizing public participation", and carry out "classified micro classroom", "classified flash show", "classified into thousands of homes", "classified experience day", "low-carbon participation", "classified talent" A series of publicity activities such as "Volunteering for a Hundred Days".

After the end of the publicity week, Changchun will also carry out garbage classification talent speech contest, school family community interaction, regularly organize garbage classification volunteer service team to participate in centralized activities and other publicity activities that are close to the daily life of the masses and convenient for citizens to participate in, continue to create a working atmosphere for garbage classification, and constantly improve the awareness and participation rate of domestic garbage classification.

On the same day, five urban areas and six development zones in Changchun City set up outdoor centralized propaganda points respectively to create an atmosphere for domestic waste classification propaganda and improve the enthusiasm and initiative of the whole society to participate in domestic waste classification through artistic performances, distribution of promotional materials, and on-site propaganda of domestic waste classification knowledge.
