Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong, May 22 (Reporter Wang Zijiang, Wei Hua) The Hong Kong Tourism Development Board announced on the 22nd that the 2024 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament will be held on the weekend after the Dragon Boat Festival in June, and more than 170 teams from 12 countries and regions will participate.

It is revealed that the competition will be held on the sea outside Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, from June 15 to 16. This year's Dragon Boat Race has also set up a special "Commemorative Cup to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China", which will be held on the second race day. Only teams who have achieved certain results on the first race day are eligible to participate in the competition.

There will be more than 4000 athletes in this event. Cheng Dingyi, Director General of the Hong Kong Tourism Development Council, revealed at the press conference held on the same day that during the Dragon Boat Race, the Tourism Development Council will launch unmanned aerial vehicles and sea fireworks performances with elements of the Dragon Boat Festival to double the festive atmosphere.
