People's Daily, Macao, May 20 (reporter Fu Zimei) The reporter learned from the Transportation Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region that the Agreement between the Mainland and Macao on Mutual Recognition and Replacement of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses (hereinafter referred to as "Mutual Recognition of Driving Licenses") has come into force since May 16, 2023, and more than 46000 Macao residents have benefited from the mutual recognition of driving licenses, further facilitating the driving of Macao and mainland residents, We will better promote Macao residents to participate in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and promote exchanges and development between Macao and the mainland.

According to the data from the Traffic Management Bureau of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, as of May 15, more than 42320 Macao permanent residents had already changed their motor vehicle driving licenses in the mainland without test. At the same time, according to the Macao Transport Affairs Bureau, since the implementation of the mutual recognition of driving licenses, more than 4600 Macao residents with qualified mainland motor vehicle driving licenses have applied for the renewal of Macao light vehicle driving licenses without test.

The Transport Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region said that in order to facilitate the public to learn the basic information of the application, as well as the mainland traffic safety publicity and education information, the Transport Affairs Bureau set up a "driver license mutual recognition" page to provide and reprint relevant information.
