Wuhan, Wuhan, May 22 (Reporter Fan Haotian) The reporter learned from the Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences that recently, the Academy has made new progress in the research of key technologies for carbon and nitrogen nutrient management in rice wheat rotation mode, and the "innovation and application of key technologies for carbon and nitrogen balance nutrient management in rice wheat rotation year" led by the Academy has passed the review and appraisal of academicians and experts at home and abroad, Overall, it has reached the international leading level.

This research relies on the key laboratory of waste fertilizer utilization of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, based on the long-term positioning test of rice wheat rotation straw returning to the field of the National Agricultural Environment Qianjiang Observation Station, and uses the data of the National Hongshan Experimental Observation Station for 43 years to verify and analyze, to explore the mechanism of carbon and nitrogen coordinated regulation of soil microbial metabolism, and coordinated improvement of soil organic matter and crop yield.

It is reported that straw returning in combination with fertilization regulates soil microbial metabolism, enhances the activities of extracellular enzymes related to soil carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycle, enhances soil nutrient activity, improves the nutrient absorption capacity of crops, and improves crop yield. This technical achievement has achieved good benefits in the rice wheat rotation area of Hubei Province, with an average annual carbon fixation and emission reduction of 2.24 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, and an increase of 550000 tons of rice and wheat, contributing to food security and environmental security.
