People's Daily, Guiyang, May 23 (Chen Jiequan) In order to further regulate the behavior of dog raising in cities and maintain social and public security, recently, Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs revised the List of Fierce Dogs in Guizhou Province and the Shoulder Height and Weight Standards for Large Dogs issued in 2019 (Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Announcement [2019] No. 9), The newly revised standard will come into force on October 1, 2024.

It is understood that the differences between the revised version and the original version include the list of severe dogs and the standard for large dogs. In terms of the list of fierce dogs, compared with the 30 published in the No. 9 announcement in 2019, the revised list of fierce dogs retains 27 kinds, deletes 3 kinds, adds 4 kinds, and modifies 3 kinds, and defines a total of 31 kinds of fierce dogs. Specifically, remove the Bernese mountain dog, bulldog and British bulldog from the list of fierce dogs that are gentle, stable and not included in the list of fierce dogs in most provinces (cities); The newly added fierce and aggressive loose lion dogs, Akita dogs, Czech wolfhounds and Baxianji dogs are fierce dogs; The names of some dogs were modified in a normative way, from "Doberman" to "Doberman (except for the mini Doberman)", from "horse dog" to "horse dog (Malinua, Belgian Malinows)", and from "Russian Shepherd Dog" to "Russian Shepherd Dog (Russian Wolfhound)". In terms of the standard for large dogs, the revised version should not be used as the evaluation standard for large dogs because of the large differences in the weight of the same breed caused by the differences in dog breeding. The revised version deleted the weight standard for large dogs in the original version of the directory.

The revised list of severe dogs and the standards for large dogs are as follows: the list of severe dogs (31 species), specifically Tibetan mastiff, Bitter dog, Turkish Kango dog, Rowena dog, Langqing dog, Kunming dog, equine dog (Malinua dog, Belgian Malinows dog), Afghan hound, Argentine Dugao dog, Brazilian Fele dog, Japanese Tuzo dog, Central Asian shepherd dog, Chuandong hound Russian Shepherd Dog (Russian Wolfhound), Bullhead Terrier (Bullhead), British Mastiff, Italian Castro, French Bordeaux, Russian Caucasian, Weimar Hound, Sheda Dog, Newfoundland Dog, Great Dane, German Shepherd Dog, Doberman (except for the mini Doberman), Italian Newpolitan, Stanford Bull Terrier (Stanford Bullfight) Chow Chow, Akita Dog, Czech Wolf Dog, Baxianji Dog and hybrid dogs with the above pedigrees. The standard for large dogs is 60 cm or more in shoulder height. At the same time, the revised version stipulates that large dogs should be kept in captivity or tethered in fixed places, and it is prohibited to keep dogs with strong temper.

In addition, the announcement will come into force on October 1, 2024, and the former Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs List of Fierce Dogs and the Shoulder Height and Weight Standards of Large Dogs (Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Announcement [2019] No. 9) will be repealed at the same time.
