People's Daily, Guiyang, May 23 (Long Zhangyu) On May 22, the reporter learned from the news briefing held in Yunyan District, Guiyang that the "New India 1950 DISCOVERY" cultural and creative street will hold its opening ceremony on the evening of May 25, officially meeting with citizens and tourists.

This project is a protection and utilization project of the old factory area of Guizhou Xinhua Printing Factory, a key cultural industry project approved by the Publicity Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, and an important brand project to build a high-quality urban renewal function core area in Yunyan District, Guiyang City. It is located at 230 Youyi Road, Yunyan District, Guiyang City, and in the core area of the central urban area of Guiyang.

Guizhou Xinhua Printing Factory is a large state-owned comprehensive printing enterprise affiliated to Guizhou Publishing Group Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1950. It is an important witness of Guizhou's propaganda and cultural front, and also carries the important collective memory of Guiyang people for more than half a century.

In January 2022, Guizhou started the reconstruction of the abandoned factory area of Xinhua Printing Factory, including the protection and utilization of industrial sites, infrastructure construction, reconstruction of old residential areas, reconstruction of back streets and alleys, building of commercial blocks, excavation and protection of historical culture, etc.

In the specific construction process, the project has carried out functional transformation and space renewal on the basis of fully preserving the original industrial heritage style, and created leisure cultural spaces such as overpass food collection, urban exhibition hall, Xinyin cultural space, tenon and mortise roof terrace, Wuwu Avenue, Dongxijili, Xinyin reception hall, urban broadcast room, shared self-study room, Xinhua Bookstore, cultural and creative brands, etc.

At present, the construction work of the project has entered the final stage, which will present a new function, new space and new environment for citizens and tourists to integrate historical marks and industrial relics into the development needs of the times.
