At present, the fertile farmland is in the autumn harvest season. While harvesting corn and sorghum, "Ju" in Qinggangtang Town makes every effort to turn the originally abandoned straw in the land into "grains" for livestock.

Walking into the straw recycling site in Pingba Village of the town, with the roar of the machine, the villagers "sent" the corn straw and sorghum straw into the baling and coating machine for crushing. After the film is compacted, it turns into bundles of "golden rolls", which are piled up orderly.

Li Ansheng, the person in charge of the recycling point, raises 120 beef cattle. In May this year, he successively purchased straw from neighboring villagers at the price of 200 yuan per ton to prepare forage for beef cattle. Up to now, the recycling point has recycled more than 600 tons of straw. Li Ansheng said: "After silage, the nutrition of the feed can be preserved, and after fermentation, the wine flavor can be improved. Cattle like to eat, and have a good appetite, and grow faster." Because of the large demand for local and surrounding feed, Li Ansheng raises cattle while selling the recycled straw as feed to surrounding farmers, He calculated the account for himself: "In the next month, we expect to recover 300 tons. I raised beef cattle myself, which needs one third of the feed. The net income of the remaining after sales can reach about 120000 yuan."

It is also aimed at the silage market. Miaowan Village straw recycling point uses medium-sized equipment, with a daily feed output of about 50 tons. This year, about 1600 tons of straw and forage have been processed. At the same time, the feedstuffs produced include ordinary crop stalks, forage grass and green corn stalks. The price per ton ranges from 200 to 1200 yuan. The products are sold to Suiyang, Zheng'an, Daozhen, Tongzi and other places. According to Yu Chuanyi, the person in charge of the recycling site, the recycling site mainly sells and processes silage. In recent days, a continuous stream of breeders and farmers have come to process silage.

Liang Chao, a big cattle farmer in Yecha Village, Qinggangtang Town, said: "This recycling site is very close to my farm, which is very convenient! Now the processed and compressed straw is better stacked and stored than the unprocessed straw before and does not occupy space. I will store the forage now to prepare for the beef cattle to spend the winter."

The sound of the machine at the scene is booming, and the horsepower is full! Since the recycling point is also developing sorghum, corn, forage and other crops, there is a large demand for labor every year. It has a fixed labor force of 6 people, and at most, it can flexibly employ about 40 people every day. The small recycling point also promotes people to work nearby. Yu Dinghai, a villager in Miaowan Village, said, "It's OK to work here, from planting to management to final harvesting, with a daily salary of more than 100 yuan, which increases the income."

In recent years, Qinggangtang Town has made every effort to promote the comprehensive utilization of straw, turning straw into treasure, and achieving both ecological and economic benefits. At present, three straw recycling sites have been built, covering all administrative villages in the town. This year, the town has planted more than 20000 mu of corn and sorghum, and the recovery rate of straw alone is more than 90%.

"Next, we will continue to increase publicity through radio, mass meetings and other means, strive to create a good atmosphere for the masses to act consciously and participate widely in straw recycling, and increase the daily inspection of straw burning prohibition, while helping straw recycling sites to expand their sales. Through the above measures, we will truly achieve the unity of economic, social and ecological benefits." Yuan Lican, deputy mayor of Qinggangtang Town, said.
