People's Daily, Lanzhou, April 9 (reporter Gao Xiang) The reporter learned from the press conference held by the Lanzhou Municipal Government Information Office on April 8 that the launching ceremony of the 2024 Lanzhou Pear Blossom Festival and the promotion activities of key projects will be held on April 10 at the Qiyuan Square of Shichuan Ancient Pear Garden in Gaolan County.
It is reported that this year's Pear Blossom Festival will be held from April to May, during which more than 40 activities with 7 themes will be launched, including artistic performances, intangible cultural heritage folk customs, national style experience, and agricultural special products exhibition, to provide tourists with wonderful cultural and tourism meals. At the opening ceremony of the Pear Blossom Fair, special activities will be arranged for the promotion of key projects, discussion and exchange, project investigation, agricultural products exhibition and sales, etc., to comprehensively display the characteristic culture and advantageous resources of Gaolan County, and attract vast merchants to invest and start businesses in Gaolan.
According to reports, in order to give tourists a better experience, Gaolan County has upgraded the farmhouse and public places in Shichuan Pear Garden Scenic Area, comprehensively improving the service level of the scenic area. The scenic spots and farmhouses also deeply integrate pear flowers with national style, science and technology and other trend elements, innovatively launch intangible cultural heritage experience, fixed-point interpretation and other activities, and enhance the sense of participation, freshness and interest of flower appreciation. During the festival, Liyuan Malatang Fair will be built in Lihai Tianyuan Farmhouse and other places, and local soft pears, hot fruit pears, grey beans and other special snacks will be launched to better meet the needs of tourists.
Shichuan Ancient Pear Garden has a long history, with an area of nearly 10000 mu and nearly 10000 ancient pear trees more than 100 years old. It is a rare "living plant specimen" and a rare "Pear Garden Museum" in the world. The scenic spot has successively won the titles of "World's First Ancient Pear Garden", "National Ecological Township", "China's First Batch of Important Agricultural Cultural Heritage", "National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration Site", etc.
